How do i advance the defrost timer
You don't have a defrost timer, you have a mother board probably on the back of the unit. It determines when to defrost based on the usuage of the unit.
you can force defrost with a jumper from J11 to J9, then monitor
current. Assuming fridge is freezing , this should supply current to defrost
coils. If not working, you have a bad heater or defrost thermostat. If this
works, you have a bad mother boar
Ice clumbing into one big blob.
You may want to check your door gasket for damage or ice build up. It doesn't sound like your freezer door is shutting properly.
Freezer is cool but not freezing or making ice - fridge not cold
If there is frost on the back wall of the freezer, then the compressor is running. Another (maybe) good thing is the fan is running.
The problem could be -
1) Bad defrost heater
2) Failed defrost sensor
3) Failed defrost timer or refrigerator controller board.
There are diagnostic tests to determine the problem, but require skill at using a multimeter and possibly reading a schematic/wiring diagram.
You can temporarily make the refrigerator run again for awhile by unplugging, opening the doors, and defrosting for 6-8 hours (store food in coolers.). Then plug it back in. Note, water may come out of the freezer as a result of defrosted ice.
My refridge is cool but not cold and my freezer is
I've been replacing a lot of defrost heaters on these. is there frost inside back bottom of freezer? I've also had computer board problems that cause the freezer fan or the fan by compressor to not run...the coils next to compressor are very easy to get dirty and stop up and cause overheating also..check these and see if one of them is the problem :)
Ice maker only makes crushed ice, no cubes
The button which selects cubes versus crushed controls a solenoid which engages/disengages the crusher. If the mechanisms which crush and push the ice from the chute are all clean, free of ice, etc., then the solenoid is not working. It either has loose/dirty connections or the solelnoid is bad.
My Refrigerator and Freezer is warm
I just had a similar problem, and the bottoms of both sides were cold but the top shelves were warm. I found that the condenser fan, the fan right above the
cooling coils was not working. This fan circulates the cold air and if
it's not working it can't move the cold air to the top or over to the refrigerator
side. Open the freezer door and press the switch that tells the computer the
door is closed (so the light goes out), if the fan doesn't come on
shortly, or only sputters that could be the problem. You will need to take out the back cover over the coils, the ice maker tray and auger motor if you have one and some other parts. Play around with the plug where it goes into the side wall, if you can get the fan to come on and off, it's most likely a bad fan motor....about $55 to replace. As you take it
apart, be sure to take some digital pics of the process so you can
remember how it goes back together!

GE g2220iephww Refrigerator too warm at top, too cold at bottom.
If you are manually defrosting by turning the refrigerator off or unplugging to defrost, then you've got one of the following -
1) Defrost heater has failed
2) Defrost sensor has failed
3) Defrost timer/refrigerator control has failed.
As ice builds on the evaporator, if not defrosted properly, the accumulated ice restricts airflow through the evaporator, which reduces air flow and air velocities through the box. Lower velocity allows the cold air to fall to the bottom of the box, warmer air to the top of the box.
Water dispenser keeps dispensing water when not pressed
If you can pull on the lever to make water flow stop, chances are there is a mineral buildup inside the valve, or the seat in the valve has failed. Either way, the valve normally needs to be replaced as they are not usually serviceable. Leave the Model number of the refrigerator so that I can check what to replace.
