you have a bad mother board,i've seen this happen before,go here put your model number in and go to sealed system look at part number 801 this is usually the computer board and it will give you the correct part number, the most common board is wr55x10942p but check it by putting in your full model number,if you open the fridge door, look up on the right side wall where the wall and ceiling meet you should see a tag with model and serial numbers you just need the model number to get the correct parts.if you need any more help write back if i can help you i will good luck.go here look at the picture, look at the left bottom side,if your board doesn't have all 7 black relays you don't have the updated board in your fridge change it out.if you do then it sounds like you have a bad board,if you call the number that's on the model number tag and tell ge your board is defective i've seen them send out the parts to fix machine all they can tell you is no we can't help you out but i think they will send you the parts you need,on some of the older models you had to change out the evap fan motor too or if you didn't it would burn out the new board but they will tell you about that.good luck with your repair and here's a site that tells you about the board.

good stuff
Replaced the defrost heater, defrost thermostat, worked good for about 3
If the icemaker refill solenoid does not close properly or stays open too long excess water enters freezer compartment and that will freeze over the ice making machine plus other areas of freezer. There is an adjustment on the ice maker to regulate the amount of water going in - locate the screw (behind front panel of maker) and turn counter clockwise to lessen time of fill operation). Problem is not with the GE
GSL25SFRFBS KNOCKING AND NOT COOLING
If your knocking sound like like a ding of a bell and then stop once started and rings again when it stops, the internal compressor motor mounts have come loose. These mounts are just spring mounts that are pressed into the bottom of the motor and if the refrigerator during handling or shipment has been bounced badly, these spring mounts can become loose. These other cause for knocking is the comressor shaft probably sheared. This is a rare occurance but I have found it and it could explain the not cooling. If your refrigerator is inside of the warranty call the toll free number and pay the minimal charge and have factory trained technician install an new compressor and filter drier (pencil drier/filter). If it is not inside the warranty period, the cost to repair the refrigerator will normally cost more than simply replacing the unit with an new one.
Why is my defrost cycle too long
I had the same problem it is not the defrosting I don't think your water tube is missing the cup for the water or it is almost missing it I will tell you what I had to do I removed my cup and spaced the clear water spout so it would just run derectly in the ace tray. It solved my problem. For me it was just common sense after it almost drove me crazy.
GE side by side refrigerator not cooling
This sounds like the same issue I had with mine. I didn't fix this myself, I had an appliance repair guy come out to check it out and he said it was the condenser. He fixed it in about an hour and a half, only because he had to defrost all the ice in the back of the freezer. He charged me $270.00, taxes included, for the work and the issue has not come up again. He told me once this is replaced I should get another couple years out of the refrigerator.
Thin layer of ice on food in ge side by side
ice on food means door was left open for extended period of time and then closed. When door is left open humidity forms on food. when door is closed again the humidity freezes and becomes thin ice
