GE MODEL GSH25JSRF-SS PROBLEM HELP PLEASE

I had the same problem back in March. First the water and ice dispensers stopped working, then the clicking started and the compressor wouldn't turn on. I replaced the circuit board and everything started working again, until today. This is a very common problem with the circuit board on these refrigerators. Do a search for "GE circuit board" and you'll see what I mean. GE issued a service bulletin to its technicians that this service should be provided free of charge, and anyone who already paid to have the circuit board replaced will be reimbursed. I wish I would've known about it 6 months ago. I will be calling GE Consumer Affairs on Monday to get this resolved.

No water but ice is fine

I fixed mine by leaving the light on the dispenser on. It took about 6 hrs, but the little heat from the light bulb was enough to defrost the water line.

Refrigerant charge

There is no port unless you use a line tap if your refrigerator is less than 10 years old the manufacturer will pay for the repair unless it will continue to leak and compromise your compressor

I have a GE GSL25JFPBS side by side refrigerator.

Hi,Without seeing you unit and going by what you have described in detail, (thanks you for all this information). I would look into the sensors in the freezer. Part number WR55X10025. The unit has 4 of them, two in fridge section and two in freezer section.I would be looking at the one on the evaporator itself as this one controls the cooling cycle and defrost of the unit. If it is out of range (this happens) this will cause either issue to happen. Either it will never go into defrost, won't complete defrost, or not run long enough to chill the unit down effectively. This is a common issue and the factory has changed vendors over the years to stop this issue from happening. Right now the sensor should have a black tip where the wires enter it, the old ones were white. If you have the white ones, I would change both in the freezer section so you are updated while your in there. This units are cheap and not difficult to change.Hit me up if you have any further questions. I hope this helps. Water will not dispence in ge refrigerator model number gsl25jfpa bs

Your line is frozen. Frozen water dispenser line is a problem with this model. There are number of solutions.1. Contact GE 800 386-1215, option 5 and ask for WR49X10173 heater kit. There is a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdNX3LteJTw to help you install it. Try to get GE to send you the fix free.2. Get a hair dryer and heat the dispensing box until the water dispenser works. This is not a permanent solution, though, and it takes 15 to 30 minutes. Hang a long beach towel or blanket over the open freezer to save the cold air.3. Place a long, clean fishing line or weed wacker line up the water dispenser line. When it freezes, pull carefully to dislodge the frozen water. 4. Buy another brand of refrigerator and let GE know they make inferior products.

Freezer is not getting cold

Can you remove the rear panel you see the ice buildup on the evaporator? I believe your refrigerator has a defective defrost element. You need to unplug refrigerator remove the panel and see what type of frost pattern you have. Here is a link to what you may see behind that panel=> HERE This is a link to what you said you see with frost on the rear panel=> HERE Can you confirm that your refrigerator model number is GSL25JFPBS? Look around the fresh food section door for your model number. Here is a photo HERE with the locations number 230 is the defrost heater=> WR51X10055 Defrost Heater Assembly 2_1_2013_2_48_36_pm.jpgAnd location number 240 is the defrost thermostat=> WR50X10068 Defrost Thermostat2_1_2013_2_54_44_pm.jpgI would like to know what frost pattern and the true model number of your refrigerator so I can help you better. If it has the frosted over evaporator like in the photo above you can defrost with a hair drier and the refrigerator may cool again up to a week until you can replace the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. How to test these parts can be found on the same page as the part numbers I posted here, Thanks Sea Breeze
