My son had that same problem with his tablet, we panicked before we realized it only needed to be reset. There right next to the volume up and down button there will be a tiny hole. It is the size of a pin tip, it actually says reser, we took a small paper clip and straightened it and it fit perfectly in the hole. Press it for a few seconds and it should come on, it will reset itself. Good Luck

For the device you are talking about there is no way to retrieve it she will have to fully reset it by: 1) Powering the device off completely. 2) Holding the power button and volume up button simoultaneously and when it says: "HKC touch the wondrerful world release the power button only and when it goes to the android on its back either tap it or press the power button either one is fine and finally you scroll down using volume- or + and go down to wipe completely and press the power button to select

First you have to attempt to type in or guess the password 5-10 times make sure that it is plugged into the wall outlet and that it is charged up fully. Once you guess a few times shut it down and power it back up the sec you see the hkc screen let go over the power button and push and hold the home button. Hold the button till you see the dead android with the yield sigh then let got of the home button. Once you achieve this you then push the power button down and tap the home button once you have to be quick about this don't hold the power button for more then 5 sec or you will have to start again you will get the service screen where you can do a factory reset . You can scroll down with the home button and the enter button is the bower button hope this helps it took me 2 days and limited resource to figure this out but it works you need lots of calmness and time but this iOS the fix with no volume button good luck
