Evaporator fan stops working due to ice buildup around fan.

you need a drain tube heater.it is like a chain fence tie made from alluminum, you can actually use the fence ties, wrap one side around defrost heater and stick the other side in drain.that will prevent it from happening again

Why did fridge stop working, then freezer 4 days later?

how it works. 6 month ago another technician came to this service call and found out that system is low on freon. So he charge it up with freon and add leak dye into the system. Leak was really slow, so he could not find at first. Here Im 6 month later, found leak dye with special light (dye leak set (tools) cost about 180$), did not need to order any parts, but replaced copper tube. Customer paid around 600$ for repair total for this repair. Hope That Helps!

Refridgerator runs but doesn,t cool

Check that the compressor is running , if it's not it could be several things causing this, defrost timer stuck in defrost, thermostat not making on a rise in temp or compressor is stuffed or last but not least no gas and or one or all of the above. Check that the compressor runs ,spin the fridge around and you will find a cover, remove the cover and you will find a black round object the size of a grape fruit, with it plugged in and in the on position place your hand on it , be careful not to touch any wiring . if it's running you will feel it ,if it's not it will be cold and then you need to check all he above , to check these devices you will need a multi meter and make sure you unplug the fridge.

Defrost drain is freezing

it is a normal problem with all refr. there is a drain tube at the rear of the unit the has a "drain loop" it gets plugged after a few years. try and remove the tube from the clamp, and run water thru it to clear the blockage. you will also need to remove the ice from under the freezer coil after you clear the tube. after that the regular defrost cycle will take over and work properly.

Brita profile

yes replace the seal, this type of spotting that forms as rust color occurs on "ferritic" stainless steel. Simply put there exists iron in the alloy and the surface needs to be pacified. Use DeBruce Polish to correct the problem. Non-toxic and odor-less containing NO ACID, this TRUE MULTI-SURFACE CLEANER is the best product for stainless steel AND glass/ceramic cook tops. We have a GE Profile Model PFS22SBSBSS fridge (double doors on top, freezer below). Approximately once a month it stops working and the temperature slowly rises. If we empty it and unplug it for seve

There will be no simple answer or solution for the cause of this happening but knowing that your model has a motherboard that is prone to problems like these symptoms yours has does at the least point to many possible causes. Other things to consider are the possibility that a condenser or evaporator fan motor that is slowly going bad will cause this symptom and even cause the problems on the motherboard low voltage side to damage a new replacement motherboard should the board be replaced without knowing that there is also a problem with a fan motor. If it were me I would consider the cost of replacing the refrigerator with a model refrigerator without all of the electronic bells and whistles. GE thought they had a special product that would cut cost when going electronic as they did with the Artica/Profile models but what happened was many people are left with the cost of keeping these models going out of their pocket money. I will be glad to assist you in repair but first please weigh in replacing your model with something simple that has no electronic gadgets that in the long run cost much more to keep up. Thanks Sea Breeze
