The problem must be to its T'Con board. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Check this link and select the site named above. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. Our Samsung LN52B550 tv has a vertical bar of colored lines on the screen. We have unplugged and disconnected all signal sources. Any other suggestions?

Check the flat ribbon cables that connects with T'Con board to lCD panel for any loose contacts. Re-seat them. If this do not help you, replace the T'Con board.

Have a black screen no sound. have power

If this set is under warranty you should return it to get it repaired/replaced by the seller. If not then; This sounds like the power supply board is failing. The electrolytic capacitors on the board may need to be replaced. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR(soldering ) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it. >Unplug the set and any cables. >Remove the back cover. >look at the capacitors on the power supply board. If the top of any of them are bulging up then that is the problem. >You will have to replace ALL the electrolytic capacitors except for perhaps the large one. >Disconnect and remove the power supply board. Handle by the edges to prevent contaminates and static electricity.> Use ones with the Low Equivalent Series Resistance ESR rating> Use ones with the same farad rating > Use ones with the same or higher voltage rating> Use ones with high temperature rating> Install one at a time to prevent mix-up and keep the polarity correct. > Leave a space between the PC board and the bottom of the capacitors for expansion. They heat up.> Replace power supply board and reconnect cables..> Replace back cover. THIS IS AN INDUSTRY WIDE PROBLEM AFFECTING MANY COMPANIES AND PRODUCTS. Sources for some good capacitors are www.digikey.com or NTE. Try nteinc.com for a local outlet of NTE products. You can also search for other sources. Some companies even sell all the capacitors in a kit. Total price of parts should be < $30.00 Yes you can buy a new power board but if the capacitors have not been replaced they will eventually fail also.

My TV is blacking in and out, how do I fix this?

If the t.v is less than an year old, it might be well inside the warranty period. So the best thing you can do is to report them or take the t.v bake and ask the company's mechanics to fix it for free.
This one is a common problem for L.C.D screens. 6 screws that attach the inverter board to the LCD gray metal bottom loosen over time, causing the TV to periodically lose video while retaining audio. Sometimes turning the TV off and on again restores video, sometimes not. The problem gradually gets worse making the TV unusable.
To fix it yourself is a time consuming and difficult task, although you need no additional devices to be replaced. The disassembly and assembly may eat a lot of your time. But if you are still interested get yourself a service manual (must have came with the t.v or you may download it) and follow the disassembly instructions given in it. Go through the following steps: Stand Disassembly, Back Cabinet Disassembly, Angle Back Disassembly and LCD Cover Disassembly.
Once the LCD cover is removed, on the left side you can see the metal cover of the inverter board and the six screws holding it down, the very screws that we have been looking for! Remove the six screws and the metal cover. Without disconnecting any of its connections, rotate the inverter board up and to the left to expose the bottom of the inverter board as well as the gray metal bottom of the LCD to which the inverter board is attached and grounded. Note the 3 copper rectangles on the bottom of the inverter board surrounding the 3 screw holes away from the left edge towards the middle of the TV. These are the grounding strips that lose their connection.

Using contact cleaner clean off any black burn marks from these connectors. Also clean all black marks from the grey metal bottom that they contact. Clean carefully and thoroughly. You might need to scrape lightly to remove all marks.

Rotate the inverter board back in place. Line up the metal inverter board cover. You can either use the 6 existing screws or purchase replacement screws (only if you are not satisfied with the old ones). Using a removable thread locker coat the screw threads of one screw. Tightly screw in the middle edge screw first. Follow this by the edge top and bottom screws, then the middle inner screw, and finally the top and bottom inner screws, using the threadlocker on all 6 screws. Verify that all screws are tight.

Now start the reassembly in the reverse order of your disassembly. If you have done everything fine, you can find your t.v working fine.

Best Regards. Thank You.

Some hd channels can only be viewed by watching thru a cable box. If you are using a cable box check with your cable provider to see what the issue is.

You need to find out what the native resolution of the TV is when it is used for PC monitor, then set the screen resolution on the laptop to that resolution BEFORE hooking it up to the TV, turn off the PC attach the TV to the VGA port on your PC, turn on the TV and set it to PC, it will display no signal and then go into standby, turn on the PC and now you should see the computer signal on the screen, you can use HOTKEY function to toggle the displays between the PC and TV.

How do I troubleshoot my Samsung TV? I have sound, but no picture.

Caps can fail with no outward signs. It takes a special meter to test them. Your set may have a back light inverter that powers the back lights. When it fails, the picture cant be seen, but you have sound, to check this look for a picture on the screen using a flashlight
