Regarding your question if you will use a converter from VGA to HDMI will it provid High Defenition video?

I believe that it will provdie video converting the signal from VGA to an HDMI connection but I do not think that the video will be High Definition since the VGA is just being converted to HDMI signal and not an actual HDMI but just a converted signal, and it is possible that it may not work properly or the LCD TV may have difficulties recognizing the signal from VGA converted to HDMI.

Turn on your computer...while booting press F8 then select SAFE MODE..press enter. Now, you must adjust your video resolution found in graphics properties. adjust the resolution in minimal only then restart your pc. thats all...it will back to normal

the reason that it turn off is that there are 4 flourecentlights and one might be brokenso take it apart carefully to see if that is it if not check where the wires from the light plug in and see if there are fried

Take out the batteries,wait like about 20 mins.put in brand new bateries,if still the same result.Remotes devices are greatly dependend on it CPU chip.The CPU chip is shorted and dead.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an original or very close to original remote.

if your on cable then contact your provider for an adapter they usually will supply a couple for free use. If your on antenna you need to get the adapter from a store like best buy just tell them you need a digital to analog adapter for your tv antenna

The T-CON is either bad or not getting clean 5vdc feeding it. If it is the T-CON board which is part of the LCD panel assembly, then you will need new screen, which will not be practical to replace.

Have you replaced the remote control batterys?
If you have and need to verify if they are working, you need a digital camera and a dark room. Turn on the digital camera and then point your remote at the lens and press any button. if the remote is transmitting the LCD screen on the camera should show it flashing.
If you see that then you know your remote is operating next go to your tv and try to access the menu and retune the tv.

If you have sound, then your tv doesn't need tuning. Shine a bright light onto the screen, can you see a very dim picture? If so, your backlight has stopped working. This is almost always due to the inverters failing and can be repaired.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague

Did you try pushing the On button of the set? New batteries for the remote? Power Reset, unplug from the wall socket, press and hold the power button for one minute, plug it back in?

Time for a new TV, in most cases plasma sets aren't worth fixing, parts are hard to find an costly plus one issue can lead to another, not something most people can fix without electronic experience
