The ic on the T-con board is failing you could confirm this by spraying circuit cooler on the ic . The T-con board is located in the middle top on the unit has a cable from the mainboard to the t-Con
and two other going from it to the panel

No picture used to have lines at the top
It could be your current problem, but it is not the problem causing the lines.
You can send the main board to us and we can test it and see how it behaves, possibly fix it, but we likely won't be able to take care of those lines.
Tv flashes on then off
See if you can change the input. and see if it is any better. If not there may be something loose internally. I don't recommend attempting to repair yourself, but having a tech do it can be pricey. Try and leave the TV off for 24 hours and trying again, if it persists you may need to replace the TV. Good luck
Sanyo DP46848 im stumped lol... with nothing
Although you have not posted a picture, I believe you may have a screen or LCD panel problem, the panels have film connections that go from the t-con module, through the panel control pc boards then through thinn film connectors from the lcd screen. Likely this is the problem.

Loss of Picture
It sounds that the CCFL lamp has the fault. Contact any service technician to make it confirm.
I have a Sanyo 46 inch flat screen hdtv purchased
I have the same problem, my television is faded black on the left side with lines on the left top side. I have had the 46 inch unit for 1 year and 7 months. I am planning to write a demand letter to Sanyo and then taking them to small claims court woth evidence that this is a common problem with their units that they know about and is not trying to remedy. Also the Attorney general in Texas should have an interest in them (Walmart and Sanyo) selling these defective proucts in the state.
