How doI register my first generation reader?
Press the menu key. Turn wireless on. You should see the word settings. access that and you will get information about registration and lots more. I have a keyboard Kindle, so yours might be slightly different. --- I am sure yours will be similar. Access the Menu key: turn Wireless on; access the SETTINGS button and there should be information about registering as well an a lot of other info. Good luck Lee.

2 years ago my daughter bought me a Kindle e book.
When mine was lost and I bought a new one I had to call customer service to get things straight. When you get that settled log onto www.bookbub.com They can send you a short list, by email, of books you might like. Just fill in info about what kind of books you like. Some o them are free and some low price. I've found hundreds...One day I might get to read some of them. LOL

Wont charge
Well, if it's a Kindle 1 it was sold in 2007(?) and is now an eReading antique.
There are some video's on Youtube showing how to replace the battery, but it may be more cost effective to buy a new BASIC ereader for about GBP60.

My kindle wont charge why
My son had the same problem, the part where you insert the charger must have been realigned and you will need a new one. Or best buy might be Ble to fix it. First make sure its not the charger itself.

How do I download books into my kindle. Need
Dear Eva,The easiest way is to enter in the 'Menu' and select 'Go to Kindle Store' and buy them directly from there - they wil be sent wirelessly to your device. If you managed to get books in files, with the extension .MOBI, .PRC, .AZW or .TXT, you can connect your Kindle to your PC via its USB cable and copy them to the 'Documents' folder of your KindleHope you may find this information helpful!Regards,Miguel L. When I turn on my kindle I get a distroted screen
Dear Sarah,If your Kindle presents some horizontal or vertical lines in part of the screen, or even in full screen, and if the image is kind of "vaporous", not bright, it might have happened that you have a broken display (maybe due to pressure exerted on it, by something inside your bag, backpack or wherever you carry your Kindle). Please check this link to see if your problem is similar to those shown in the images:
https://www.google.com.br/search?q=broken+kindle+display+image&client=opera&hs=72G&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=hsZ5Upr2PMrqkAez1YHwCw&ved=0CCgQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=730If that is the case, you can buy a new display from Ali Express and replace it following the disassembling instructions shown at

My screen froze on a page. It will not connect to
Dear Stephen,These are the steps used in order to reset your Kindle (taken directly from instructions from Amazon):"Follow these steps to restart your device. These steps will not remove content from your device.1. Press or slide and hold the power button for 20 seconds.2. After 6 to 8 seconds, the screen will go blank. This is normal. Continue to hold the bower button.3. After another 20 seconds, release the power button. The charge indicator light will turn on after a few moments. For Kindle Fire, press the power button again.4. Your Kindle will successfully restart. You can find these steps, with a timer, here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=kindle_help_forum_faq?_encoding=UTF8&nodeId=200829000#restart"Remember that your Kindle must have some charge in order for you to be able to reset it, otherwise, connect the cable to a USB port or power charger for some twenty minutes before attempting to reset it.Hope you may find this information helpful!Regards,Miguel L. Martins
