Press the menu key. Turn wireless on. You should see the word settings. access that and you will get information about registration and lots more. I have a keyboard Kindle, so yours might be slightly different. --- I am sure yours will be similar. Access the Menu key: turn Wireless on; access the SETTINGS button and there should be information about registering as well an a lot of other info. Good luck Lee.

When mine was lost and I bought a new one I had to call customer service to get things straight. When you get that settled log onto www.bookbub.com They can send you a short list, by email, of books you might like. Just fill in info about what kind of books you like. Some o them are free and some low price. I've found hundreds...One day I might get to read some of them. LOL

Well, if it's a Kindle 1 it was sold in 2007(?) and is now an eReading antique. There are some video's on Youtube showing how to replace the battery, but it may be more cost effective to buy a new BASIC ereader for about GBP60.

the battery is most probably undercharged or dead, before you buy a new one, make sure that it is the battery by testing with another one in a store.

My son had the same problem, the part where you insert the charger must have been realigned and you will need a new one. Or best buy might be Ble to fix it. First make sure its not the charger itself.

I had the exact same problem, called Amazon, and they are sending me a new one immediately. it should be here tomorrow. And I have heard complaints about their customer service- NONE here. :)
