Hold down the 'on' switch for 20 seconds. The Kindle will reboot - you will not lose anything on your Kindle.If you need to reset it to factory default (which will remove ALL content) then:

1. From Home, press the Menu button, and then select Settings.
2. In Settings, press the Menu button again, and then select Reset to Factory Defaults. Your device will power off and power back on.

If the charge light won't even come on then it sounds like you have a dead battery in your kindle and need to replace it.
Call support and order a new battery.

There's a button immediately to the right of the space bar marked with a large and a small 'A' - that's what you use for increasing/decreasing font size on the screen

If you have no idea what I am talking about, your Kindle probably located a neighbour's wireless internet access point and you cannot use it without his permission.

Kindle uses your amazon account password, if you forgot that you need to contact amazon, if you found this kindle you might consider calling amazon.com and return it to the rightful owner. Most people that make these request ether found a kindle, totally forgot there amazon.com information. Use the USB cable that was included with the device, plug-in into micro USB port, and then plug the other end into the wall outlet.

You kindle should have come with a usb cable (one end is different from the normal usb on things like pen drives) and also a little plug with a usb port on it. If you plug these two together, then plug the other end of the cable into the kindle, once you plug the actual plug into the wall, your kindle should start to charge (you can see this by a light appearing on the bottom of the device). You can also plug this cable straight from your kindle to the computer. This will also charge it (though slower than through the mains).

Let it run out of battery then plug it to the computer. Now it will start after that restore your kindle by holding the wake/sleep button for 15 seconds.

it may be solve by changing the gadget screen and this can be solve by changing the screen, but the better option is just consult the service provider of your device.

Connect Kindle to PC via USB Cable. Open in Windows Explorer by going to My Computer and double clicking on kindle drive. Open the documents folder once in kindle drive. In the documents folder you'll see 2 files for each book you own (file extensions .AZW & .MBP). To delete one book you must delete both of its files.
