How to set password if we lost the old

Hey there,
If you cannot enter the password, you will need to reset your kindle back to factory settings. On the back panel, there is a small reset button: http://www.blogkindle.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/kindle-reset.gif
  1. First, you need something pointed like a paper clip or the tip of your earing.
  2. Now, open the back cover of your kindle by pressing it firmly while sliding it to the right using your thumbs.
  3. You will then see the reset button as shown on the picture. Use the paper-clip or your earing's pointed tip to press on the reset button.
  4. A few seconds after pressing the button, your kindle will then reboot and will be restored.
Note that you will need to reload all of your eBooks back onto the kindle after doing this.
Hope this helps, thanks for using fixya. Dont forget to rate!

Would like to delete books

It's easy. Go to your Kindle's "HOME" screen, then use the Scroll Wheel to go to the menu and select "Content Manager."

Once you are in the Content Manager, select the Book or Books you want to remove by clicking next to that line with the Scroll Wheel (an "X" will appear in the box to the right of your selections). The scroll down to the menu line at the bottom of the screen, choose "Remove Selected Items," and confirm when your Kindle double-checks with you.

How do i delite books i have read

To delete content on Kindle 1

Connect the USB cable that came with your Kindle to a PC.When prompted, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer." You should now see 3 folders named: "Audible, music and documents."
Open the "documents" folder. From the "View" menu in explorer, select "Details." so that you can see all file details -- in columns. Click on the top of the "Name" column to sort all of your documents by name. You should see two files for each book you have on your Kindle. The extensions for these files are ".AZW" and ".MBP" The AZW file will be the largest of the two. For each title you wish to remove, select both related files and delete them. Don't forget you can hold down the "Ctrl" key to select multiple items in the list...
Disconnect the USB cable from your Kindle. Turn the Kindle off, then back on. The deleted titles should now be missing from your Kindle home page.

It is much easier to delete the content on Kindle 2, scroll to the shaded line below the book you want to delete. Push the mouse button to the right and a menu will pop up - "Remove from Device" is the last option. Scroll to that choice, select and Voila!

I cannot get the list

on the bottom of the unit is a small hole for resetting the unit. Take your stylus, unscrew the pointer end and use the smaller end of it to press into the reset hole. Let the reader reset and you should have your books. Kindle has had this issue for some time with the reader that came with the free ebooks. The solution was a simple one to fix.

Kindle Paperwhite has virus - about:blank How do we get rid of it?

You will be the first person in history to have imported a virus onto a Kindle Paperwhite. Congratulations! Alternativly you just pressed things wayyyy too fast and confused the poor thing. Check you have charged it for at least 30 minutes. Press and HOLD the power button in the ON position for a slow count of 30. Ignore whatever happens and just keep it held on. Now go drink a cup of tea and let it calm down. Now touch the power button as normal to turn on.
