Yes this is easy,to get the 'cent' symbol just hold down the 'AltGr' key with the '4' key and hey presto!! As for the other symbols you'll have to be a bit more clearer on your question ok!
If you have access to a multi-meter check that the power brick is delivering the correct DC voltage at the plug that connects to the laptop. Remove the battery from the laptop and see if the computer runs.
The two common problems are either the power brick has failed in which case it can be replaced, (check ebay), or the battery has failed, same fix can be used.
while the computer is turning on push the escape key and try selecting the harddrive if it doesn't start to boot into windows then your boot record is probably corrupt you can try fixing it by running chkdsk /r on your OEM reinstall disc that came with the computer, seeing as you have a netbook you will need a external cd rom
It sounds like your startup file has been corrupted. If you do not have any important files, I recommend a clean install of your operating system. i dont believe this one---make sure you have the correct keyboard country settings enabled other than that corrupt soft, make sure you have the correct OS as supplied by Asus
Move your hands in a swiping motion from left to right all around the keyboard, especially where the semi-colon key is. You want to make sure that no keys are sticking.
If it keeps happening then that means the keyboard is faulty and would need to be replaced.
At the top right hand corner are 3 little squares, the middle one is full size and shrink. when its full size it can be changed, when you click on the little square again, its on other setting, you can make the page what ever size you want. Place you pointer at the edge of the page and you can move the page, same for the top and bottom.
I hope this is what your asking, if not please post back more details.
Like if your talking the size of the words or something else.

Both have free versions, but I have bought both.
Then go to Startup and remove TSRs (terminate and stay resident programs) that have been added by new programs.
..
Look for a program called Sound Booster or one called DFX. DFX is my favorite because it not only boosts the volume, but lets you add other effects to enhance you sound as well. There is a free version. but to get all the effects you have to upgrade to the paid. If audio is important to you, check it out.
Try going into sound select and test reinstall driver off Asus website..if you installed new windows or update drivers may not work right...see if you can roll back driver in device manager ..if not lookup your laptop model and reinstall...
