Ricoh Aficio 1232c REFILL
You can't use any other brand of color toner to refill the AF1232, you'll have all kinds of issues. They do have compatible toners (generic) for that model but highly recommend OEM.

Ricoh 1224c prints on left side only - Blank on right side
well if its just on the black then it might be the black drum see if it does the same on the color from copying and printing. If it does the same in color then its not the drums it may be the developers, but you wont know untill you test the color if it only happens in black and white its definitely a problem with the drum.

I am seeking to purchase a Ricoh Aficio 1232c
Are you stuck with just the 1232 or do you have a choice of models? The 1232 is getting pretty dated and is uses a single drum belt/transfer unit that is very expensive to replace. The models that followed use individual drums/dv units for each color so your risk of a very expensive part is less. The biggest factor in used copiers, especially color machines is what maintenance has been done to them and what is the copy count status of the consumable parts. The color speed on the 1232 is also very slow. What is your primary use for the machine? Meaning mostly black and white with a little color usage or is it mostly color you need?
Are you planning on buying from a dealer and getting a maintenance contract?
I'll start with this and see where we go from here.

Need to clear the memory of a Ricoh Aficio 1232c
you do not need to clear the memory print the configuration page and see which driver is supported:
it can [RPCS] or [PCL 5e] or [PCL 6e] or [PostScript]
if you are using the driver which the machine does not support she will print documents as you say some kind of codes.

Not printing in the middle of the page, suspect a
a paper jam will not stop this from printing only in the middle? make sure it is the same for all colors , not printing in the middle. if all colors are not printing in the middle. you may need your mc cleaned. **** glass cleaned, pcu replaced, transfer belt unit replaced. also make sure the problem occurs from memory as well as copies, you can ruleout hdd and scanner then.

SC230
this is an error for the transfer belt there is a mark or the belt has been damaged if you open up th efront cover and then look at the brown panel there are two screws either end that nee to be loosened then lift this up next there is two screws on the transfer unit that run diagonally acros the inside of the machine and a third screw on the black unit (duplex) unit this needs to be taken out.. once you have done this there is a green lever in the top left hand side of the transfer unit this needs to be turned to the left to release the roller take the black duplex unit out by sliding it to the fron then the treansfer unit can be pulled gently out.. it is on two runners so it wont fall off you can hten look at the condition of the belt. if it seems ok look on the edges of the belt by gently turning the gear at the back this will feed the belt around.. if it seems ok put it all back in and then put the srews back in close it up and turn on the machine.. wait for it to warm up.. press the yellow clear/cancel button at the top above the number pad then enter 107 then hold down the cnacel/stop button, hold this down till the screen changes.. turn off the machine and bcak on again.. if the reset has worked the machine should run up and be able to copy and print.. if not you will have to do the same proceedure of clear/cancel button routine and once the screen changes select copy sp then go to section 5.mode then scroll down to 810 sc reset. execute and turn off the machine.. wait 5 secs turn on and test again.. if the error code keeps coming back the B.I.C.U Board may be defective and need to be replaced. check the transfer unit condition of the rollers under the plastic clear image belt also.. Good luck A.

How could I switch the fax, to receive
do you mean the fax line is shared with the phone line, and you want the machine to pick up faxes when necessary, and let phone calls go?
If that's the case, this mahcine is designed to be on a dedicated line. In other words, there is not setting for "distinctive ring", or to set the # of rings to pick up. It will answer any call coming in. The only thing you can do is set it to "manual receive", under "user tools", "fax features", and then you could use it for sending faxes, but it will not receive unless you switch it to fax, and press the "on hook" button.
