Yes! Fascinators are a huge fashion accessory these days and lots of stores are producing them specifically for weddings.

It's my fox ( name brand) sweater . the fabric is acrylic . All I did was machine wash it then when I took it out I saw that it looked and felt different. So I wet it in cold wash try to get as much w

I have an acrylic blanket that feels different when wet, sort of tight. But when it dries out, it is soft and sort of spongy like before. Hopefully this will be the case for your sweater.

I need to get the jacket on my new suit altered. The sleeves need to be taken up a bit. How long should I leave them?

Ask the tailor to shorten them but to leave you at least a quarter of an inch of the shirt cuff showing. It looks so much better than having no sleeve showing.

Any clues what to do when you try on suits? Should I wear something specific?

It's a good question because if you want to buy a suit and make a good choice you need to be wearing a dress shirt and socks and dress shoes when you try it on. Make sure there are good mirrors (3 way mirrors are the best).

Check whether the pants sit well at the waist and if the leg length is right for you.

Ok so will someone please tell me what the different lapel types you can get when you buy a suit? I have to decide for my wedding and I am not sure if it really matters.

A notch lapel is the type you find on most business suits and it's a good and safe choice if you aren't looking for something alternative.

A peak label is more traditional and old school and it is making a big of a fashion comeback.

How many buttons should I go for on my suit jacket? I have no idea what is considered trendy these days.

The three buttoned single breasted suit is actually a very popular choice with young men these days. Two-button suits used to be seen as a very conservative choice but they've become a hit lately with designers who are streamlining the style for the runways. One button suits are not a popular choice but it's really a matter of personal taste.

It is really hard to tell if a suit jacket is too big or too small. What should I be looking for when I try one on?

Ok so here are 2 basic principles to follow when you try on a suit jacket;

1; It shouldn't be so tight when you do it up that it strains across the buttons

2; It shouldn't be too loose - not more than a fists worth between the buttons and your chest.

What should the shoulders on my suit be doing? I know it sounds silly but I think the shoulder pads in my suit are too big but the assistant told me that it is part of the fashionable design.

Obviously I haven't seen your specific suit so I can only answer with general guidelines but your shoulder pads shouldn't come out any wider than your shoulders.

If you stand sideways against a wall, the shoulder pad shouldn't touch the wall before your arm does.

Generally you should trust your gut instinct and if it doesn't feel right when you look in the mirror, you won't be comfortable in it.

I am buying a suit for the first time, where is the best place to start? Can you recommend any particular designers that I should look for?

I think you should go to a good department store for your first shopping outing and you should go just to window shop and not feel pressured into buying.

The advantage of department stores is that they stock a wide range of brands and you can just walk around and get a feel of the department and see what styles catch your eye.

Use the assistants to ask questions about prices and you can be very specific ie if you know you like a certain type of double breasted suit, ask them to see a range of prices in that style.

I am going with my mum to try on wedding gowns next week. Will they let me take photos of the dresses I try so that I can send them to my sister for her opinion?

Most places won't allow photos to be taken until you have actually bought the dress. This stops people from copying the designs and usually they are quite strict about this rule.

What is a peacoat?

This is a coat with large lapels and double breatsed fronts. They have buttons that are often large and made from wood or metal. They also usually come with pockets on the sides. These coats were originally worn by the European Navy. They had these coats in a navy colour made from wool. They were later worn by US sailors as well. Soon after, the peacoat took off in the fashion world and now it is a popular coat style.
