It appears that you have an auto focus issue. Yes, it is repairable but at what cost? The part son those cameras are proprietary and cost a small fortune not to talk about the heavy labor involved in making the repair. Does the manual focus work?

hi, when the still camera works the shutter of the aperture and iris is opening for a limited time, if it opens without limit the excess light will enter in and the result will be blurry picture, if the shutter is not opening the picture will be dark. in movie mode the shutter will be always in opened state, so I think there may be fault in shutter. in some cases a slight jerk giving to cam when you depressing the snap button will reset the shutter and will work normally.

hi, your camera's zoom is faulty, there is some sensors with which controls the lens retraction, if the lens's position is wrong the sensor cutting edge will not get in the proper position. open the camera, take out the lens, open it carefully, if the position of the lens is not in proper position, you can see some marks on the lens barrel fix it in the correct position.

hi, I think your question is about the camera picture,if so the fault is in the iris or aperture unit inside the lens, in some cases the flexible cable in this unit become break, difficult to get separately, but the total lens unit is available, change with a new one.

I have an s5500 and does the same thing. I remove the battery and let it reset. Make Shure you zoom in tele all the way and then all the way back to wide before turning it off. Hope this helps.

It could be the batteries. It could be the battery charging circuit in your camera. Try charging the batteries in an external charger that you know for a fact is working properly. That will tell you if it is the camera's charging circuit or the batteries. If it is the camera's charging circuit, it will cost less to use an external charger then to repair the camera.
