How much water should be in machine
It depends on the amount of clothes that is put into the TUB and it must be adjusted to the level required as low, medium etc.The water level sensor will cut off the inlet valve when it reaches the desired set level. The water level should be a little over the clothes put into the tub.
The lock light turns on but it wont start
Had similar problem. I removed bottom front panel, took plug out let it drain then removed trash in it(coins,screws,just random stuff). Went a step further took pump out and removed back off it and found Bobby pins stuck in it. Put all back together and works fine. Make sure to have towels for when removing plug
GE frontloader door gasket ripped
We had the same problem, I printed off the solution posted by john_in_erie. His repair directions were VERY acurate, however we find a few helpful additions to the repairs - 1st in step #6, the spring loaded wire, is in the front of the gasket under seal (we were looking on top of machine). Also in step #8, you need a short phillips screwdriver or a 7 mm socket with a 1/4" ratchet because of the position of the screw to get around the edge of the tub.

You have low water pressure which wont reach the dispenser drawer during rinse cycle. Clean the feed pipe in case there's dirt in the feed gauze located at the back of the machine. The mould on the rubber is dirt in the machinme. A mixture of 1 cap of bleach and 1 small tub of Swarfega mixed with water and put into the drum on an empty wash will stop it geting worse but it cant be removed.

Sounds like a problem with the door lock on the front but what and where is another question ,is the water turned on by any chance as it will not fill and could throw this light on .
