I have a Minolta EP 1083 the copies that it gives smudge
If fuser rollers are getting hot - you either lack pressure between upper and lower rollers Restart; remove/dump old developer - instal correct compatible starter reinstal imaging unit remove toner ctg. key in stop 0 stop 1 tec rep run F-8 mode runs apx. 2 min. exit svc mode If whats not fusing is gritty(starter) - other issues

where the black line being left when after the drum or before the fuser THe hot part. make a copy and stop the machine so the paper is in the middle catch it before it goes into the hot part are the lines there? be careful the toner will not be fuse your hand will smear the toner, if the lines are there you need to replace the cleaning blade and maybe the drum and get the image unit that houses the drum might need to be cleaned.
if no lines then the fuser is putting the lines on the copy replace the upper and lower fuser rollers and cleaning roller next to the lower fuser roller.

C0200 on develop
Below the drum is an assy. that houses two very fine gold plated wires that do two things since the paper goes between these two wires and the drum the first wire transfers the image on to the paper from the drum, the second one prevent the paper from sticking to the drum. One is or both are bad, BROKEN? Remove the assy. and replace both. They are very fine and fragile do not lose the springs. If that does not work you might have bad ends on the assy. after a while the plastic breakdowns and allow the voltage to go to ground. The wire carry around 2000 volts during the copy process. None during power off :) Open close the front door resets the code.

Error Codes
Well the C0500 code is the code that is given when the fusing unit is bad (THE HOT PART) to reset that code need to go to the rear remove top rear cover and press the small black button on the control board lower left. The C0400 is Exposure Lamp the bright lite under the big glass. Might need to get a new one try web site below as for the C0500 if it comes back do not reset get Konica Minolta rep to look at the fuser unit. IT can catch on fire and that would ruin a perfectly good day. If parts required see the web site below for a start
