How do you get the auto threading and wind in place to work on Singer XL6000 sewing machine

There are several FB and Yahoo groups dedicated to the Quantum XL-1000, XL-5000 and XL-6000 who can help you. It may be that your problem with the autothreading is the autothreader is out of adjustment, but I'm at a loss as to the bobbin winder problem.

How do i get to see the screen on my LCD Quantum 6000. It is hardly visible

Oh boy. You need to take it in to a Singer dealer asap. There is a rumor that Singer is going to stop making parts. I think it can be fixed if you get it in now.

The presser foot lever is loose and will not bring the presser foot up or down

First of all, I would recommend that you purchase a service manual. It is inexpensive, and I saw several for sale on eBay. For your purposes, it is helpful when trying to locate the particular fastener that governs the presser foot, and there's a drawing of it there. It appears that that fastener--it's a 2.5 mm Allen--has worked itself loose. Your presser foot when raised should be 6.3 mm (5 dimes) above the needle plate. That's important to know, because if you're going to tighten the fastener, chances are the foot is no longer where it should be, and you should set it to the proper height before you tighten the fastener. Furthermore, your machine detects material thickness, but that feature is disabled if your presser foot is not correctly adjusted. If you open the cover over the thread path and look closely, the particular Allen fastener you want is located behind and in back of the very long spring, about 1/2 way up. You can further identify it by looking at the shaft that holds the presser foot. It takes patience to tighten it; it's a tight space to work in.

My tension wheel does not move freely

Upper thread tension is regulated in the video portion of your machine, so I'm assuming that you are referring to the actual disks that exert tension on the thread. Your tension disks are located under the cover over the thread path; to locate them, just raise and lower the presser foot a few times--they will be the only thing that moves. To clean, use only unwaxed dental floss--NOT waxed, or hand embroidery floss, and "floss" between the two disks. You should be doing that periodically anyway, because when there is lint or thread pieces in the center of the disks it will prevent the thread from seating properly and exerting tension on the thread. In addition, you should ALWAYS thread with the presser foot UP on ANY sewing machine regardless of manufacturer, model or age. That is the only time that the disks are spread to accept the thread. If you thread with it down, either the thread doesn't get in at all, or it only gets into the outer rim, and it's not enough to produce normal upper thread tension.

We are trying to use

You must convert the Monogram Wizard file to a format that your XL 6000 can read. If you have the Singer Sew Ware Conversion Tool, you can do this by opening the conversion software and simply saving the file as an (note: Fixya thinks the "dot triple x" file format is profanity, but it's the main file format used for the XL-6000 so I had to type it out this way) or a .sew format. Once the file is in the correct format, you can then import it to the XL 6000. To import, you must have a special cable (serial port to USB) that has an FTDI chip in it. Only serial port to USB cables with the FTDI chip will work. Here is a link where you can purchase said cable: http://www.cablesalesusa.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=472&products_id=1968 After using the cable with FTDI chip to connect your computer to your XL 6000, you must then ensure the com port settings match. I am including below some links that may be helpful to you in figuring all this out. These documents were helpful to me when I was trying to figure out all this stuff for my XL 6000, and I hope they will also be helpful to you. Blessings to you and yours. How to change the COM port for USB Serial adapter on Windows 7 How to configure the Singer Approved USB Adapter with Windows 7 I also have additional helpful files, but this site will not allow me to upload a file in .pdf format. If you would like to provide your email address, I would be happy to email the documents to you. One is a workbook for the XL 6000 (much more detailed than the Owner's Manual). Here are two additional pages that might be helpful: trying-use#solution-section-lzldskb0i2jni14zl4eksues-1-3.jpg trying-use#solution-section-lzldskb0i2jni14zl4eksues-1-6.jpg

Bobbin refuses to be wound on self-winding bobbin machine. Bobbin does not turn. The thread is winding continously on the bottom of the bobbin basket. Need help.

Just off the top of my so-called head, it sounds like something in the bobbin area is not seated correctly. However, I would recommend that you do a search on FB and Yahoo interest groups (also on PSW software); it's members are MOST helpful, and will be glad to work with you to resolve this problem.

I just checked the Singer site, and it appears that while it's available, it costs $60. The English version is a free download! You might want to check the user's groups in Facebook and Yahoo, though; there might be other members who have a copy and are willing to share.
