Simplicity Fashion Pro SW2145 Mechanical Sewing Machine Questions & Answers
Maching starts without using foot peddle
"Ghost sewing" sometimes occurs when the wires inside the foot are making contact before the pedal is even used. There is sometimes a "dial" on the bottom of the foot pedal (usually accessed through a small hole with a miniature flat bit screw driver) that can be fine tuned for responsiveness. If the dial is labeled + or -, turn the dial toward the minus to reduce the responsiveness of the pedal, (should be counterclockwise) and if it is not labeled just try quarter turns until the pedal operates as is should. If there is no adjustment, you may have to open and repair or replace the pedal.
I would like to know which foot attachment you use on stretch fabric
You would normally use your standard sewing foot, or usually called your "zig-zag foot" for sewing on stretch fabric, just as you would woven fabric. Or, you can buy a "walking foot" sometimes called an "even feed" foot that will help the top and bottom layers to feed more evenly together. If your model has an adjustable presser foot tension, (adjusts the "drop" strength of your foot that you will feel when you raise and lower the presser foot lever) you may want to decrease it some, and test a scrap to see how well it feeds the particular fabric you want to use.
You can also use an "over-edge foot" with certain utility stitches to give a 1/4 inch seam that looks similar to a serged seam.
You may want to find a book (I like to borrow them from my library) that shows various sewing machine feet and what they can be used for.
Don't forget to use ball point sewing machine needles for stretch fabrics. Good luck with your project!

R Whitney, actually, I'm not the sewing machine expert. My husband does sewing machine repairs. So, I had him read your problem and he said, that what your machine needs, is to be taken to a shop. They haveto clean all of the old oil off of it and reoil it. It's a service that everymachine needs at least once a year. It happens because of the dust and lint that gathers in the oil. It can't be helped. It just happens, but when you get it back it should run like a new machine. They'll oil it and readjust everything. You'll love the way it sews after they finish it.
How do i get a
