Thread looping on the bottom

Thread looping on the bottom means you have a problem with the top thread. In your case there is no tension on your top thread. Take all the thread out of the top and start threading over. Make sure you follow the correct path and make sure the thread goes through the tension discs. Then at the time of sewing, make sure your foot is down (this closes the tension discs and gives the thread the tension.) You may have worked on the tension setting while not realizing the thread was not in between theses discs, so also make sure the top tension disc setting is in the average before sewing.
Good luck.

(If you see loops on top, it means you have a problem with the bottom thread)

Hi I have a very old pfaff walking foot industrial

Hello there, the setting of timing is quite a delicate process and requires to be handled with care. The process for doing the timing is similar across all models only the directions might be a bit different based on screw locations and numbers. Here is a link to help you with the timing procedures make sure you have someone with some technical knowledge present when you attempt to get it done. The directions can be found on page 30.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

I am not sure how to replace my broken self

If your talking about the needle threader, it just simply slides on to the stainless steel shaft and snaps on. You might have to adjust it a little if it doesn't line up with the eye of the needle. To do that you need to remove the side cover of the needle bar area, and loosen the 1.5MM allen screw that sets the stop for the threader stop. It is located near the top of the needle threader bar.

I can't find where the fuse is located on a

There is a fuse located on the circuit board that is in the main motor. You need to remove the top cover, front cover, and stitch buttons, cover. You will then see the main motor. Once you have it out, you need to be careful as you disassemble it, as it has 2 very fine copper wires that connect the circuit board to the field windings. Look for the fuse housing that is on the circuit board. If the fuse checks out good, check the motor carbons. They may be worn down far enough to not make contact with the armiture.

Low bobbin thread indicator not working on Pfaff

Have you tried to take out the bobbin case, close the door, and see if the indicator comes on? If the indicator works with no bobbin case, then the machine is working. You may have what we call foggy bobbins. Bobbins that are scratched or cloudy. Make sure you try a new one. Also check for lint blockage in the hook area or the bobbin case. If it still doesn't work, the indicator on the door may have gotten pushed in. That sometimes happens. You should feel the indicator eye protruding out a little bit from the door. You can open the area where the indicator is on the door to push it back out. Sometimes the indicator wire behind the hook gets broken. That would require you do disassemble the freearm cover area. Start with the simple things first.

My needle fell out of

Hello

Will the handwheel move at all? If so, undo the needle clamp (the thingi that holds the needle in) and raise the needle bar (the thing that the needle is inserted into) try not to use brute force methods, especially if the bobbin case is still in position .

Remove the bobbin cover and try to get the bobbin out -- bobbin and bobbin case both out. With luck, you can now grab the needle with a pair of pliers and pull it straight up and out of the bobbin case area. If not, try to figure out what's holding the needle in position, and see if you can break the needle (wear safety goggles!) with a couple pairs of pliers and then disentangle the mess.

I have the pfaff 2042

i cant remember but i think that that machine has a dimmer wheel on the front right next to the screen. If turning that does not fix the problem then the wheel is broken and needs to be replaced (eazy fix at a pfaff dealer). If there is not dimmer wheel then there is a contrast adjustment that you can get done at a pfaf dealer and that should fix the problem.

All was well when I sat down but after about

First check to make sure the thread is in the takeup lever (the part that goes up and down when you turn the hand wheel).
If it is threaded correctly then it could be just about anything, probly going to need to take it to a pfaff teck.
Be carefull who you take it to, lots of shops say they have a trained teck but very few realy do.

Have a Pfaff 6270 tiptronic

Hi, well most often when this happens, it is either the Power Supply, or the Controller. However, it also maybe any one of a myriad of "Other" faults, that unfortunately display the same symptoms, ie: lights on, No go, No display..

The very best thing you can do is take it into a Pfaff authorsied servicing center, contact either a local or head office, and ask for a referral to a local service center.

now when there, ask them for a "Quote"as to the repair, and if the "Quote" seems acceptable to you then you have the option of repairing or replacing depending on costings.

I inherited my mother's Tiptronic

Deep breath. Ohmmmmm.... ok now.

Few things you need to know.

1. Try to remember TTN when you run into problems like this it stands for Thread, Tension, Needle. Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as universal thread and needles. You'll need to determine what kind of thread and needle is best for your application.

2. When things gets bunched up under the fabric it Usually means that the tension for the top thread is too loose. However, a bad, bend or just plain wrong needle will cause these problems too.

3. Always grasp the threads (both top and bottom) and pull gently backwards when starting a seam. Some old school seamstresses and seamsters say to make sure your needle is at its upper most position (just before it starts to move down) before you begin sewing.

4. since you've had a couple instances with this issue... you might have to clean the bobbin race area. I'm a bit reluctant to tell you about this but remove the bobbin and look carefully for other stray threads, dust bunny's etc.

I hope this helps some. ;o)

The timing on my Pfaff

Needle must be all the way up and the long groove must be facing out.(1) Bring the needle to its lowest position and then raise the needle 2 mm (5/64 inch) by rotating thepulley, toward the front of the machine.(2) Check that the point of the sewing hook is at the top of needle eye in the center of the needle. If it isnot, remove the face plate (para. 4-23) and loosen the needle bar clamp screw. Move the needlebar, as necessary, and retighten the screws.(3) Check that the rotary hook point is at the center line of the needle. Loosen the two setscrews goinginto the shaft and rotate the rotary hook assembly as needed.(4) Tighten the rotary hook setscrew and recheck all settings.(5) Rotate pulley toward the front of the unit to ensure there is no interference or binding.tm-10-3530-207-14_411_1.jpg
The timing is done either by adjusting the slide on the hook drive shaft or the gear. Grub screws attach these parts to the shaft and the above sketch shows the ideal timed position of the needle and the hook. Further instructions appear below.
