Janome Memory Craft 9000 Computerized Sewing Machine - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Leaking stickey resin around lable
I just bought a one owner gently used machine and it had the same issue. I thought when I saw it the lady had spilled something on it. I brought it home and realized it was like the glue that held on the label was oozing out. I used Goo Gone and it cleaned off with a little elbow grease.
My machine is skipping stitches
Lower the pressure on the feed dogs, use a stretch stitch, and longer stitch length. Be sure to use a good quality thread, and maybe go lighter weight thread.
I have a new Janome
Since your machine is relatively new, it is probably still covered under warranty.
I have a Janome 15000 when I guilt it leaves eyelashes on back how can I correct the problem
Are you doing free motion quilting? You need to tighten the upper tension to eliminate those eyelashes. Also, if you are moving the fabric too fast for the machine to keep up, you will get the eyelash effect....Also, if eyelashes tend to occur more when turning curves or corners, slow down moving the fabric when doing those movements. The machine needs to keep up with your movements.http://www.generations-quilt-patterns.com/sewing-machine-tension-troubleshooting.htmlhttp://www.quiltersclubofamerica.com/groups/fear-no-more_fmqers/pages/loops-eyelashes-and-birdsnests.aspxhttp://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1/help-eyelashes-t179288.htmlhttp://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1/help-eyelashes-t179288.htmlhttp://www.superiorthreads.com/blog/2015/8/what-causes-eyelashes/
When I move my needle to 4.0. Or 4.5, the needle now moves to far over to the right.
The needlebar position is off. You may want to take it for service.Do you like this machine? You've used it for several years, know how to use it, etc. What does a general service cost? Perhaps $100-150. So where would you find a replacement machine for that amount? It is generally recommended that machines be serviced once a year, so you have saved enough over the years to afford a service call. IMHO, I'd rather fix an older machine that I love than buy a new machine that doesn't work as well as the old one......
Why when I sew the fabrics not advance even if the claws are raised and the machine does not stop sewing. I have to close the switch
With the issues you are experiencing, it may be wise to take it for service.
Even though the feed dogs are raised, are they actually moving forward and back as you stitch (remove the thread, raise the presser foot, rotate the handwheel, and watch the feed dog action)? Check that the stitch length is set long enough that the feed dogs will be moving the fabric rather than sewing in place. Another thing to check is whether there is a pressure adjustment for the presser foot. If you are sewing light weight fabric, sometimes the pressure needs to be increased so the feed dogs are able to grab the fabric.
As for the machine running on, it could be a multitude of issues, ie the foot control, electrical... This may be something that a professional should evaluate.

Hi, I have a Janome
Hi Marlene,
I had the same problem. I took my Janome MC 8000 machine to Pocono Sew and Vac. The tech. told me that the repair would be over 300.00. I told him not to make the repair. He called a day later telling me he found a website that sold a back light that fit my machine for 50.00. he installed it. The machine works fine now. The back light is a little smaller then the screen, so there is a thin dark line at the top and the bottom of the screen. All the function can be seen, and work fine. I will give you the stores telephone number and address. 567 Main St Stroudsburg PA 18360 570-421-8477. You may not live in this area but maybe the tech can direct you to the web site or to a tech in your area. I hope this helps.
The sewing advisor screen on a Janome 8000 is getting dim.
When your Memory Craft 8000 or MC 5700 is otherwise working fine but the LCD display screen begins to grow darker and you find you just can't read it, the only thing you can do is replace the LCD screen, or buy a new machine.
Janome no longer stock this item direct, but there is an affordable replacement available.
Full Access and Installation instructions are provided, so you can DIY or have someone else do the replacement for you.

Also includes advice, links & contacts to be able to Reset your screen and do a Self Diagnosis Routine to test your machine BEFORE you purchase a replacement LCD backlight for either the Janome MC 8000 or MC 5700, so you can check that there are no other troubles.
