I have an SX-4000 Electronic

Try this procedure to set and adjust the margin:---- Use the "Space" and "Backspace" keys to set the margins by positioning the carrier where you want each margin. WE CHANGED THE DAISY WHEEL IN OUR MACHINE &

First, be sure you are using a Brother compatible daisywheel. Some other manufactures' daisywheels "look" the same but the charters are in different order, so they will not function properly.


After changing the daisywheel you need to d a reset. Hold down CODE and press "Q" the carriage will do a little dance and your machine should be good to go!

If memory serves me your typewriter has a key or lever marked KB 1/KB 2 it should be in the KB 1 position

How to do margine release

Move the carriage (print head) to the margin you would like to clear. When you hear the beep, hold down the [ALT] key and press [3]. Now use the backspace or the space bar to move the carriage to where you want the margin set. Now hold down [ALT] and press [4] to set the left or [5] to set the right margin. For your further reference, I have included the keyboard special key chart. You might need to download the pic and zoom in to read it.

I have a brothers sx-4000

There are two things that people mess up when changing printwheels and ribbons. Is that the ribbon is not in the guides properly. The other is that the latch the holds the type wheel is not locked in the forward position.
