Burner works intermittently
You have either a bad burner or a bad control for same, or bad connections.
With power removed use a pair of pliers to crimp the connections (after cleaning the ones on burner) going to the burner.
How to check heating element
You can sometimes see the burnout of an element. In some cases it will actually burn a hole or melt a spot in the outer lining of the element. Sometimes it shows nothing. In that case it can only be tested with an ohm meter... Normal reading is approx 15 to 20 ohms. No reading at all means its burned out.
How do i open the oven windows to clean in between the 2 glasses
Assuming you've removed the door, lay it down on a blanket and look at the bottom. Usually there are 3 or 4 screws there - remove them. Then remove the 2 screws that hold the handle to the door. At this point, you should be able to separate and remove the outer door & glass panel. 90% of all your spills and drips can be cleaned at this point. I do not recommend taking the rest of the door apart, as it gets more complicated to disassemble and especially re-assemble correctly. If you need further help, reach me via phone at

Kenmore oven control beeps and shows F1
According to Kenmore's list of error codes, F1 means EOC
(Electronic Oven Control) failure, and the solution is to replace the EOC. You might look into that. The part itself costs around $80, as far as I can see.
Ignitor isnt working
The oven ignitor should have a resistance reading of about 3.2 to 3.6 ohms. If the readings are out of this specification or show open replace the ignitor. measure the resistance of the oven valve. The gas valve should have about 1.5 ohms of resistance. If the gas valve is OK, the control board is suspect. The ignitor needs 120vac to work.
The oven heating element won't turn off
I would thing if you called an appliance service store or retailer and gave them the make and model number of the stove they can sell you one and maybe install it if you need them to but I would thing it would be called the oven switch
Maytag oven model cre9800ace with error code F3
Hi Janine.F3 means
"Shorted oven temperature sensor" and it is returned when the oven electronic control detects a wrong impedance value from the oven temperature sensor circuit. The oven temperature sensor is a probe located inside the oven cavity. The sensor can be removed from the oven and tested using a multimeter set on impedance. The impedance reading across the two sensor's contacts at room temperature must be about 1100 Ohms. Impedance increment rate is 100 Ohms more for every 50 degrees temperature increase. If the reading is sensibly different from this value the sensor must be replaced. Here the replacement part: Long Oven Sensor KitThe sensor is indicated as part number 11 in
the exploded view available here. The sensor is held by two screws. In order to replace the sensor disconnect power, disconnect the connector attached to the sensor, undo the two screws and remove the sensor. Perform operations in reverse order to install the new sensor.Regards.Ginko
