Download the user manual to your device from net. It will have all details.

HelloJust clean its laser pickup lens, by inserting a lens cleaning disc in to, and play it at least two times. If it doesn't help you, the laser pickup unit should be replaced. The lens cleaning disc can be bought from most of the electronic sparepart selling shops at your town, and won't cost more.

well since you have a digital tv (you have all sorts of jacks in the back or side panel)...your dvd has 3 (rca) cable wires (yellow/red/white)..we need to plug these three wires into the back of tv where its video in (depending on your set it might say dvd/digital in or whatever)...once you have did this in order to see the dvd using the remote switch the source (between tv/av1/av2 or cable)..remember your tv stays on ch 3....to get back to your regular tv again using the remote for the tv switch the source to tv/cable''

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described the issue seems to be with the TV not the DVD Player as its doing the same thing after replacing the DVD Player. If you have already tried the same DVD Player with another TV then I believe you should check the cables connected from the DVD to the TV, also if you want more assistance please revert back with the manufacturers name and model no# for your TV.

Is it your own copy or is it a standard cd?
Sony are renowned for not playing copies.
Try cleaning your cd and check setup menu making sure cd is turned on for playing
