The sony RMT-B101,2,3,4,5 all run with a Blue Infra signal ...Instead of a INFRA'RED'.
That is the only way you can get past the main menu after the BluRay DVD has started....The play button will not start to first chapter of the movie, OR into the BluRay Setup to allow you to use a different remote......LOOK UP A MANUAL ON THE COMPUTER..
There is a setting in the BluRay that will allow you to use a different remote ...BUT ...you still have to have 1 of the 5 remotes to get in to setup.......JUST PICK UP 1 ON EBAY ...OR BARROW 1....Its the OK BUTTON in the middle
Help, my Sony S360 BD play says "invalid" to two
The chances of getting 2 bad rentals in a row are very slim, but not impossible. If your player plays all other DVDs fine, then my money's on the Redbox DVDs being bad, or even fake (people have been known to keep the actual movies, and return fakes to the machine).

Purchase or borrow an imported DVD. The only real reason to
make your DVD player region-free is if you plan on watching imported
DVDs.

Locate your DVD player's brand name and model number. These
can usually be found on the box the DVD player came in, or on a sticker
close to the video inputs or on the bottom of the DVD player.

Have your remote handy. You will need your remote to enter the input codes into your DVD player.

Locate a Web site that can help you with the codes you need
for your particular DVD player, since all DVD players have different
codes. Try DVD Exploder or Video Help (see Resources below). Both have
an extensive list of codes for almost every kind of DVD player
manufactured.

Enter your brand name and model number when prompted to do
so on the Web site. If your particular model number is not available,
try searching under the brand name. Sometimes you will be able to find a
model number that is close to your DVD player's model number.

Enter the codes into your DVD player with your remote. Be
sure the DVD player's door is open-almost all codes require the door to
be open.

Test your imported DVD to see if it works, once you have entered your code into the DVD player

Unfortuneately the problem is in the RF circuits after the laser,but combined in the whole assembly. There is nothing you can do, except if warranty applies take it back.
