Mitsubishi WD- 73737 73 in. Screen if dim or dark. Changed contrast, brightness, and restored default settings but that didn't work. Help?
I am not sure about your model but a call to Mitsubishi to ask if the set has one or two mirrors would offer a possible explanation---the ones with two mirrors have a small one at the bottom--it gets coated with dust and brightness drops up to 75 percent----other possible reason is the lamp may be nearing the end of its life.I would have Mitsubishi look to see if this model uses the two mirrors--if that is the case cleaning will cure this--if you find it has two mirrors I can tell you what is involved--on Vacation but do look here--let me know what you find.
My wd-73737 is so dim that you can barely see the picture. Does this mean I need a new bulb?
Not sure but this may be one of the few models made that has a odd issue. Most of these sets the picture is projected from the optical lens into a a large mirror in the rear of the set.A few models had the not so bright idea of having the lens shine the picture down into a small mirror which faces up (bad idea) and projects the picture to the large rear mirror. What happens is the small mirror if there gets coated with dust as near the air intakes at front of set---picture over time will become up to 70 percent darker than normal.I have tried to compile a list of model numbers that have the 2 mirror setup but never could get them all.Only two ways to know---call Mitsubishi to see if your model has 2 mirrors or not.--------If it has 2 the little mirror is your problem. It will depend on if you are able to get at it---entire front screen with frame will have to be removed---set this size it will be a 2 person job.If you find it has 2 mirrors either have a service call for it or I can give you instructions on how to safely remove front to do it yourself--If it has the small mirror it will look like a new set when cleaned. If it only has one mirror you may have a lamp reaching the end of its life---cleaning would of course be much less expensive in most cases.SD TECH
Wd-73737 welcome screen comes on
Hi,
If the flashes denoting a two digit number( blinks pause blinks again), it is an error code, example if the error code is "22" the led light blinks 2 times pause then blinks again 2 times and will repeat the process. Let me know the 2 digit error code to determine where the fault came from.
If it is not denoting a 2 digit error code, let me know if the flashes will stop or not.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-73737
I've seen that happen on equipment that has automatic signal detection. Usually this option is available when connecting the equipment with an hdmi cable. The setting can either be on the television or the cable/sat box or both. You have to disable the automatic signal detection signal on both the television (if the television has one in the setup hdmi menu if there is one) and on the cable/sat box. Further you have to choose a resolution on the cable/sat box normally 1080i or 720p fixed. Disable the 4:3 override if there is one. Save and lock in the settings and you should be all set.
I have a Mitsubishi DLP
It's not the bulb. Google Mitsubishi WD-73737 blink codes. The blinking light is a self diagnostic tool and each blink code represents a certain problem.
The power light blinks and
