I have a compaq presario f700 it have a problem
Compaq Presario f700 NOTEBOOK.
first off im amazed it can even blink bark or glow at all
laptop are scaled in DOG YEARs.
my first guess is the not tried yet, exernal VGA jack works
so only your screen is bad.
as all are now with CCFL lamps dead or its power pack.
called "inverter"
the lamps go dim, yellow ,flicker then die, all do if CCFL
best is upgrade top LED laptop and w7 and newer OS.
the BIOS pages must work or the screen is bad
seems power is ok, to me. and you.
it came with VISTA.
year 2007?
im reading your service manual now.
and see this?
that is CCFL lamp not LED>
this is bad or the inverter card that drives is is bad if BIOS FAILs
to show in the screen, My best guess, no tests by me,
testing is the only sure way to fix problems not guessing.
why not get tech to fix it?

Hp presario f600 boots and runs but screen wont cut on
Well if you are sure the computer is running, then you could have a bad inverter, take a flashlight and shine it on the screen, if you see the icons and computer booting, then you have a bad inverter, go on amazon and order another LCD. also if you have a desk top monitor, connect the monitor to your laptop, then boot up your laptop, hold down the "FN" (function) button and press "F4", you should see everything on your desktop monitor. Good luck.

Can I load Xp over vista on persario f700
Yes and no, Yes because XP is an upgrade from windows vista Now!, but not today, because of marketing reasons, they are pulling support from XP, and you will have big problems registering you product code. Not to mention, they are not providing updates for XP anymore. There are ways to register your product code into your motherboard yourself but that's beyond my skill set.

How to id motherboard
Most of the time the model number is printed on the board itself near the CPU or beside the RAM slots. If your model number is not there you can sometimes also find it on the back side of the board itself which requires you to take the board out of the PC entirely. Usually if this is the case the model number is printed on a sticker on the back of the Mobo

How to factory restore my compaq presario f700
It depends on which OS and software came with the computer and the state of the computer. (In all cases do not use the Microsoft System Restore. This will return a computer to the last known good state (revert to a prior version of the registry) but not to the factory installed state.)
To do a recovery without starting Windows:
Some Vista and Win7 machines came with HP Recovery Manager. Press F11 during bootup (BIOS prompt) then if the hard drive is accessible, the Recovery Manager will start. Follow the on-screen directions. (If you changed the OS from originally installed version or repartitioned the drive, this is not available.)
For all other OS and recovery software options, you will need an external (USB) optical drive. The preferred option is a R/W DVD drive to create the recovery media yourself. (HP will send you recovery discs for a fee if the machine is under warranty.)
If you can enter Windows, click Start
