I see that you are having an error check signal cable.

Have you tried selecting the correct Input for the LG LCD monitor?

make sure that the Correct Input is selected properly to be able to detect the signal from the HDMI cable that you are using.

The audio will not confuse the video on an HDMI Video will be detected as long as the Input on the LCD monitor is selected.

Audio on the HDMI will only work if the HDMI driver is provided like on a desktop computer you will need to get the driver for the HDMI for Audio and video to come out using an HDMI cable but never will audio conflict to the HDMI video output.

The bands are caused by the monitor displaying a picture that is not the correct resolution. This model has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 according to LG - see http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/product/124873/review/w2353vpf.html#specs When you have your video card set to a different resolution that this the monitor tries to adjust the display to best fit the screen. The native or default resolution is 16:9 or wide-screen and if you have the video card displaying at 4:3 then you will have the blank bars displayed. Go to display properties and change your resolution to one that is 16:9 ratio and the bars should fill out.

Try uninstalling Forte manager and setting your display properties through windows

I uninstalled the Forte Manager through the control panel as I was having recognition problems with my W2552.
It has solved the problem, and I have had no problems since!

shaylane_195, Good description of problem! But you left out one or two key things to tell me. Age of monitor? Approximate total "ON" hours of use? Is unit covered by LG (Lucky Goldstar) warranty? You and only you can tell me if the screen is really BLANK, or is it only BLACK? Do flashlight test to determine true state of screen! Can you see very, very faint image of WIN-desktop holding bright flashlight near your black screen? This monitor works!!! You just need to fix the possible (1) "cold, frosty looking, thermally intermittant solder connection on the "internal switch-mode-power-supply/CCFL inverter board. Yes, your monitor along with many other CCFL back-lit LCD units of all brands also could have some BAD, swollen, leaky electrolytic filter capacitors installed on the SMPS/CCFL inverter board which will need to be replaced with new ones of higher quality. Get back to me, lmistyrel on aim. or do additional comment on fixya, after you do some reading in my and other fixya tech's profiles to discover all options you as consumer/user have open to you. Screens will flicker during movies if the monitor settings or drivers are incorrect.

Check to make sure that the drivers for that model monitor are installed and up to date.

Go into control panel>display>settings>advanced>Monitor
and try changing the screen refresh rate (Hertz). You can also adjust the resolution from the settings screen as well.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information
