It has excessive vibration in spin code

Pretty common issue on all front-loading washing machines. Consumer reports has reported this as a problem that is on the rise with new washing machines. The manufacturer will probably tell you that it is normal. You're best solution is probably going to be to install a vibration isolating pad/mat under the washer/pedistal. I've had the most success with a small rubber pad set called Silent Feet. These rubber isolator pads are available on Amazon.com for a very reasonable cost. Let me know if they help you.

What does SUD mean?

SUD means that excessive suds or slow draining were detected. The usual cause for the error are using the wrong detergent, too much detergent or something blocking the pump from removing the water from the washer. Try pressing Pause/Cancel twice to clear the error and run the washer without any detergent or clothing. If you see suds forming in the washer, run the cycle a few more times. Check your outlet hose for any kinks. If the error persists, you need to open up the washer and check the filter for the pump and the pump itself for foreign objects. (The filter is sometimes called a coin catcher since that is the most common item found in it.) Have a bucket ready to catch the water from the pump and connected hoses. Please post a comment with the exact model of the washer since Kenmore products from different manufacturers do not always have a unique 5 digit model number. With that information, I may be able to give you specific information on reaching the pump. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

We have a fairly new

Hello, I would like to help with your dilemma. First, adding a Liquid or Powder Softening agent to the Wash or Rinse Cycle of a Washing Machine when using extremely Hard Water as the source is trying to treat the symptom and not fix the cause. These pre-packaged Softening agents are filled with Salts that attempt to mix with the Hard Water Minerals and Neutralize them so the soaps can saturate the water and supposedly clean the clothes more effectively. However, the Hard Water Minerals are still trapped in the water supply with these Salts because they are not removed. And, the manufacturers of these Salt Based Softening Agents have no idea of what level of Hardness (Calcium and Magnesium Carbonates) exist from City to City, State to State, or in private Well water supplies. So, if they provide 200 parts per million of Salts in their package, but the Water Hardness is 600 parts per million of Calcium and Magnesium Carbonates, there is no way the Salts will be effective. With "Traditional" Whole House Water Softening, the Water Treatment Appliance actually removes the Hard Water Minerals before the water is distributed to the entire home or business, then allowing the Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Water Heater, Showers, Bathtubs, and other water bearing appliances to perform their tasks as specified by their manufacturer. These Water Softeners typically attach to the main water line of the entire home or business, and virtually exchange equal amounts of Salt for equal amounts of Hardness regardless of the incoming hardness rating. Then, as the total capacity of the Softener becomes exhausted for the batch of water it has treated, the Control Valve automatically Regenerates the system with a new batch of Salt-Softened Water to use in the home or business. And, when you treat the water for the entire home, you reap the benefits of Protecting ALL of the Plumbing, Fixtures, Faucets, Valves, Appliances, and other household items from Scale and Hard Water Destruction. How do I pack a washing machine for moving & storage

in a perfect world you would reinstall the 3 or 4 shipping screws that came with the machine, but if they are lost (likely)you can remove the back cover and pack moving blankets between the tub assembly and the sides and bottom of the machine. The point is to prevent movement of the tub during aggressive moving and jarring which could damage the suspension springs or damper shocks. F20 Error Code on Whirlpool Duet & Kenmore Elite Front Loader Washers

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADERS displaying the “F20” error code.

"F20" is a No Water Detect error. It is an indication that you either have no water coming into the washer, or very little water at all. If the pressure switch has not tripped after 6 minutes, the error code is displayed. This can be a potential problem with the following:

If you have NO water in the wash tub, check the following:

- Inlet water valve may be clogged. Clean inlet screens if necessary.
- Make sure water taps are on.
- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

If you HAVE water filling the wash tub, check the following:

- Make sure you don't have a siphoning problem. Click the following link for instructions:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning

- Verify Drain Pump operation.
- Verify the Pressure Switch hoses are intact and connected properly.

- Verify wire harness connections at the pressure switch, inlet valves, drain pump and Central Control Unit (CCU).

To access the Drain Pump - UNPLUG the washer and take the lower panel under the door off by removing the three screws under the bottom edge. HINT: Propping the front feet of the washer up can make access much easier. I use a couple small blocks of wood. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down then come off. If it sticks, tap either side and it should come free. The pump is located directly under the wash tub in the front of the washer. Verify the electrical connections are good and that the pump is running. Click on the following link to check the pump for obstructions:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385845-checking_drain_pump_in_whirlpool_duet

To access the Pressure Switch – remove the three screws in the top panel along the back of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel should slide back, then, lift off. The pressure switch is located on the right-hand side of the washer in the rear. It is a round plastic device with electrical connections and a plastic air hose attached. Verify the electrical connections are intact, and the air hose is attached and not cracked or leaking.

To access the Central Control Unit (CCU) – with the top panel of the washer removed, the CCU is located directly behind, and just above the rear of the wash tub. There should be a tech sheet directly behind the lower panel or attached to one of the interior cabinet walls. Please refer to this sheet to learn how to perform diagnostics and to verify the wire connections at the CCU. In addition, the tech sheet will also assist in how to locate the components mentioned, and the specific measurements required determining if the components are good or bad.

I hope this helpful. Please refer to my profile and use the “Ask Me” feature if you require additional assistance.
