Samsung front load washer the air flap is making a

This is the same issue my washer has had for a long while now but just fixed it in 10 minutes..

First, take the top cover off: there are two 10mm screws at the back of the top panel. One they are removed, slide the panel back an inch or two and it should lift right off. Next, to verify the cause is the same as mine, shake the tub, front to back. If it causes the noise you've been hearing, follow the ********* hose that runs from the top right side of the tub to the top right corner of the back panel, and squeeze the retaining ring that keeps the hose attached to the back panel vent, and pull the hose away. This should expose the source: a little plastic flap with some foam on the back panel side. In my case, most of the foam around the edge had worn away, which is what made the noise loud. During the spin cycle, that hose is compressed and elongated (like an accordion) from the tub movement. This forces the flap to repeatedly get sucked open and blown back shut. Over time, the stock, low density foam on the flap that was intended to silence this, broke down. I used some high density foam and gorilla glue to replace it and it's been quiet ever since.

To my (limited) knowledge, that flap is there to prevent any water from flowing out while showering for an atmospheric vent so the tub doesn't become pressurized (as water goes in, air must come out). I didn't bother tracking down a new flap as I assume it would still have the junk foam on it, so unfortunately I can't give a part number. If you are the type who prefers to fix things yourself, can unscrew 2 screws and squeeze a hose, retainer, then I chose to believe you are crafty enough to come up with some foam, a sock, or some other (better than stock low density foam) alternative to stop that flap from loudly doing its job.

If I put just a tiny bit more softener in dispenser than should be it drains down. But is it lost? Or can I continue to wash and the softener will show up in the rinse?

No it goes into the outer tank surrounding the tub. It gets used during the first wash cycle.

Dc68-01776B samsung washing machine not working

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.
