HP 2159M Monitor Questions & Answers
Hello i have a hp
WHAT YOU NEED IS SPEAKERS WITH BUILT IN AMPLIFIER YOU CAN TRY GOODWILL & WALMART & BESTBUY..
Hit on/off on monitor and now won't go back on without reboot
Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
Good luck.
MY HP MONITOR 2159 WONT POWER UP
have you tried other cables and outlets? if so, hate to say the capcitors are blown inside and it needs to be replaced. when you do get new panel, always turn it off when your not at your pc. even so it goes to sleep, there is still a current running through the capacitors because when you move the mouse it wakes up. these capacitor have like a 0000-40000- hour life span.should have asked, do you get a light? is the vga cable plugged into pc?if this helps please take time to rate
Running a Mac with an Hp monitor
You are using a monitor created for use with a MAC, the only monopolistic systems manufacturer in the world. No one may make anything for MAC except MAC. That you are able to get something working is a testament to your tenacity. Now, see whether you can use different cabling to connect the monitor to the MAC.Use the DVI, or single round multi-pin connector between the two devices, PC and Monitor ... sorry, MAC and monitor. With the digital signals more tightly aligned, you should be able to get the pair running in sync a lot more easily than with normal monitor to PC cables. The MAC has been made to be a finer machine for the creative industry, so you must also be creative, and get the two working together using the right technology.Cheers!-a.
What should be White is Gray
It may be one of the backlight CCFLs is not coming on fully. It may be the tube itself or it is warning in a way of a pending future failure. Replacing tubes is not terribly difficult if you order them from the monitor manufacturer, but they can be more expensive than you want to pay. Checking for other fault is easy. Look for stressed electrolytic caps on the power board section. They will be bulged in many cases or leaking out a black or dark brown substance. The other thing to look for is bad solder joints. Reflow some solder into any soldered connection that looks like it could gap from the wire. The flow should transition seamlessly between the copper trace and the component lead.
