That is something that would need to be sent in for repair unfortunately. here is the repair form. http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/RequestCenter?storeId=15001&catalogId=11017
Panasonic DMC-ZR1 has foreign object inside lens.
The practical answer is that you can't open the camera and use compressed air. The real answer is..."sure....open it up and grab that can of compressed air. Just don't be surprised or upset when you put the camera back together and it no longer works. But the experience will be fun." If the foreign object doesn't actually appear on the pictures, don't worry about it. All lenses have stuff and dust inside. It will move around as time passes.

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Well, it seems like your Camera's Lens kit is making trouble. You can double it by bringing the camera unit, closer to ear, and try hearing the lens kit gears mechanism. If it's facing, some obstacle, or finding difficulty in proper movement, you'll hear grinding sound from the kit. Some tips, that might work, before visiting the service center, Try shaking the unit gently, After removing the battery, and the back up cell, and you can also try hitting the camera on the palms. But DO MAKE SURE, to be gentle during shaking and hitting the camera unit..
Concerned.

In the camera's menu system, you will find an entry for "copy" which gives you the option to copy the internal memory to a memory card.
I keep getting System Errror
The non functioning of the camera can be a fault in the shutter, zoom or auto focus sections and may be due to the failure of the Main control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must the camera be opened. If so check the voltage on the motor drive, check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and released. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.Thank You for using Fixya

If it got wet, like spilled a little water on it, then it is possible to get it fixed by just by letting it dry with battery removed and putting it in rice canister will help too. But if it "went for a swim" then it can not be repaired.
