How do i FIX THE COLOR PROBLEMS I HAVE WHILE WATCHING DIRECT TV? Dynex DX-L42-10A 42 in. LCD TV
My guess is that your DirecTV box is outputting in a format your television does not recognize. Some models of the DirecTV box have a button on the front of the box for formats (480,720,1080) and you may be able to press that button until the picture comes in clear.
If there is no button:
1: Try an alternative connection tyoe to the TV from the box (if available, like RCA or coax), then switch the TV to that new input. If you get a clear picture with that connection, then in the settings menu for the receiver there should be format settings where you can select which formats to output. one of the selected formats chosen would be causing the problem. Change or remove one of the formats. (. I.e. if 720 is selected, deselect it.) After that switch back to the original connection and input to test.
or 2: The DirecTV box could be connected to a different TV and in the settings menu for the receiver there should be format settings where you can select which formats to output.
Another unlikely possibility is that the HDMI cable or slot on the TV itself is bad. Try switching the cable or try a different slot in the TV if available.

First check the cable links between the T-con & the panel, and the cable between the T-con & the Main PCB.If neither helps try the T-con circuit board.
No sound - Dynex DX-L42-10A
No, I have not heard of this either. If you've checked your connections, etc and still have no sound, try to do a power cycle of the TV. Turn it off, unplug it and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Plug it back in, turn it on and restore settings to factory defaults. If you still experience issues, then you'll want to proceed with service repairs. However, depending on the repairs necessary, it may be cheaper to pursue replacement, than get it repaired.
How can I change the resolution to 720px and above on this television????
What is your signal source and cable type? If your signal is being transmitted by a composite video cable, you need to upgrade the cable to component video or HDMI. (The cable you use depends on the device providing the signal.) Next you need to set the set top box to an HD signal, if it has that feature. The steps will vary depending on the source. Please add a comment with the source for specific steps. (If you have cable, internet TV or satellite TV, you may need to contact your provider to enable HD programming. Many services charge an extra fee for HD content.) I hope this helps. Cindy Wells (The source really does matter. My DVD recorder only records SD content. Even though I have the TV set connected to the unit with a component video cable, I don't get HD signal from those recordings or from the Digital-to-Analog OTA converter box that feeds the recorder.)
