Sorry to hear that, you cannot repair a broke LCD screen. You can find a replacement for your set, but the part will usually cost close to the price of a new TV set. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT TOSS IT IN THE DUMP !!! List it on your local Craigslist or Ebay as a parts unit.

If the problem is same with different input devices and you have ensured the are no loose contacts in power outlet, RC jack, cable and sockets, the TV needs servicing.

It is most likely a cable issue. If you have a 1080p television your tv might be trying to communicate with your cable box. If your cable is broadcasted in standard definition that message can show up. I would recommend checking with your cable company and see if you have HD channels or not.

It means for whatever reason the set is seeing no signal---could be a glitch--unplug set for a while and plug back so set may reset.Also see if set on right input or set to tuner etc.Check the simple things first before you panic,Call up the menu and see if some setting got changed by accident or set is on video input when should be on one for the antenna etc.

Two questions need answering here:1. When set is bad does a DVD or anything connected to audio/video jacks work ok?2. Are you connected via the coax fitting on set and if so what is signal source---direct or from a box etc?

It is in closed caption area of sets menu---called TEXT--it can also come from a cable or sat box but usually is from the set.

See if same when use DVD etc(might rule out TV tuner) and see if with sound turned way down you hear it---if using a box check audio settings there also.
