DVD region code

Generally, your Pioneer DVD 120K player can play any DVDs from your region. As you encounter the situation that can not play the DVD, i guess your DVD from other region. To change the region code of DVD is High-risk operation, it only can be changed less than 5 time, and you are not to recommended to do that. If only for one or several DVD Discs, just remove the DVD region code via a DVD ripper. Of course, if you bought the DVD player from other region, you can change the region code of DVD player permanently.

My pioneer dv-120k wont play australian or us cd's. Only home burnt copies of movies.

dvd players because of copyright info can only be set to one region code and can only play dvds from that region. Some players are set at factory some allow user to reset region usually a limited no. of times. home burnrd dvds usually don't carry that info therefore no issue. So you need to reset player for appropriate region

Suddenly stopped playing DVDs from

Hi.

The symptoms are usually telling you that there is a lens problem. In some case a firmware problem can give the same.
If problem is firmware, the manufacturer will be aware, and there will be an update available.

The first thing to do would be using a cleaner DVD. Before using a cleaner disk, better calling Pioneer at the number listed on the owners manual. Sometimes the use of a cleaner disk can affect warranty.
Also ask Pioneer if a firmware upgrade for this unit is available. Better testing the firmware if possible.

The problem is quite common, you can read about similar problems here:My player does not read disks

If the DVD lens cleaner does not work, then all you could do is disassembling the unit and cleaning the lens with DVD cleaner solution , or isopropyl alcohol, and soft cotton QTips.
Do this at your risk. As said, there is always the chance that you touch and damage some other part if you do it wrong, and this operation will invalidate eventual warranty.

Regards.

Pioneer PDP 507XDA 50-inch plasma TV. Sound but no picture. SOME CHANNELS WORK BUT OTHERS IS SCREEN SAVER WITH CHANNEL AUDIO.

Question edited for clarity. Great question Madeleine. The ones with Screen Saver and Audio are in Preview Mode. If you want to watch them, you have to subscribe. It is a tactic to get you hooked and get you to pay. Sometimes they will give you a couple of minutes of video and audio at the beginning of a programme. It isn't a television issue, it is your cable provider and a sales technique. ..

My pioneer 50" plasma tv #PDP 5071 PU won t stay on and the blue ON lite keeps blinking 8 x over and over. Is it dead? Did Comcast update fry it? It started yesterday. I tried unplugging it.

Sorry you're having problems. Offhand the 8 blink code on a Pioneer Plasma translates to an internal communication failure in the TV and generally requires repairs. However it's worth it to try a hard reset, as sometimes the processor in the TV can simply have locked up. The first thing you would try, is disconnect the set from power, then press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote), for 10 seconds and release. Then plug the set back in, and also check that the power cord is connected tight at the TV as well. Press power once, and see if the set powers up normally.

My pioneer amp 820w blinking blue why?

The blue blinking light on your Pioneer amp could indicate a number of issues. One possible reason is that the amp is in "standby" mode, which means that it is not currently receiving any audio signals. Another possibility is that the amp is experiencing an error or malfunction. To get a better understanding of the issue, I would recommend checking the user manual for your Pioneer amp. If you don't have the manual, you can try searching for it online using the model number of your amp. You can also try resetting the amp by unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. If the problem persists, it may be time to take your amp to a professional for repair.
