It may indicate the lamp needs replaced, or that the cooling fans are not turning. When the controller senses too much lamp current, or dimmer than minimum light output, the controller will shut down the lamp to prevent damage. Replacing the lamp fixes that. Over-heating, or fans not rotating will cause the controller to shut OFF the TV. Clean and lubricate the fans with a vacuum and a tiny drop of lubricant on each motor bearing. Also clean and vacuum the air filters. Dust and dirt are the enemies of fans and lamps. Regards.
Model WD-65734. Why is there no picture?
Never heard of a color wheel needing to be replaced. Both cooling fans need to be clean and turn easily. Color wheel fan needs to turn easily. If any one of these motors does not turn, the controller will cause a shut-down. The Xenon lamp uses high voltage to operate. If the power supply was damaged, the lamp won't light. The sparking on the ballast board indicates that dirt or dust may be causing the problem. Also, the clamping diodes and regulator may be defective. If possible, try replacing the lamp power board.
