what error is coming up? if its like mine then all you need to do is get into the bios and change the boot setting to boot off the disk or flash drive and then put it in the drive and install the operating system that way no memory problems.

These webcam's have low quality optics and sensors which require quite a bit of light to operate. You will need a light on or it will show dark. If you want a low light webcam you will have to purchase a USB one in the $100 range.

If Lifeframe is installed, you can start it up by pressing the Fn-key + V If nothing happens, press the Win-button, search for E-driver and install missing drivers/programs from there.

Bios passwords need to be reset by shorting a jumper or connection on the motherboard. Depending on your model this may require an involved tear down.

Just on phone with ASUS rep. We're getting error on boot on a new unit. Told me to remove battery and power line and hold down power button for 30 seconds then plug in power (not batt) and press power then immediately press F9 again and again until a recovery screen that would reinstall from partition on hard drive appeared. Sadly, F9 didn't work for me and its off to service dept with a brand new unit that worked for 2 hours. Not so sure about ASUS. Have Compaq, HP & Toshibas with only one problem Toshiba within first year of purchase.

Try another AC outlet. Try another cord. Check ALL cables. Has the AC jack been damaged, by a pull on the cord?

When you try to Boot , what happens? Anything? Have you tried another cord? AC outlet? Has the AC jack been damaged by a pull on the cord?

Find drivers for devices and install, sometimes Vista drivers will work with modification, windows 8 upgrade 32 or 64?

Sound like a driver issue. Did you do an upgrade to Win 8? If so you will have to locate drivers for the devices that Win 8 does not have stored, beeing a new OS that is a common problem on older computers. That said, does your volume work ? Can you use the tray icon to control volume? Is the audio working at all?

Well it looks the contact of your power switch is either loose or dirty inside. If you do not have any background on dismantling your unit it would be wiser to just send it to a proffesional technician.

The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.
