The built in speakers on my gogear 8gb mp4 player

My ENT doctor said no more ear buds, no more ear phone so I Amazon purchase another GOGEAR Ariaz because they have an external speaker, or so I thought. I tried all to get the speaker ARIAZ 16 gig to work. Nothing. Speaker does not work. The instruction manual that comes right on my 16 gig GoGear Ariaz is for titled GoGear AZURE! AZURE! Where did that come from? The Azure manual does not show a speaker. Go figure. I do not think my Ariaz-Azure has a speaker. It does have Bluetooth that works for me OK with a Philips external Blue Tooth Speaker. No ENT correct external speaker on the player itself? Or am I wrong. The tiny, tiny micro writing label on my "GOGEAR Ariaz" is a label for "SA5AZU16KF/37. Even though the Logo on the case of the GoGear is imprinted ARIAZ! If I am wrong and my Philips Azure???-Ariaz has a speaker I would be pleased to know how to make the speaker work. PS, I do own a GoGear ARIAZ 8G, and it does have a speaker that works for me. .

No space to build database, please connect to pc

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing FixYa to assist you with your problem. From the description you have given above, you have no space to build a database of media player files and you want to know how to free up space by connecting to a PC? I think I can provide assistance to you for that. Your device is telling you what you need to do, which is free up space on your MP3 player by removing media files on your 8GB hard drive. 100 megabytes of files need to be removed in order to do this. By going into songbird and removing the files, the computer will remove the file from the MP3 player, but by default, will not delete the file itself; as the file will be on Philips Songbird on your PC's hard drive. To remove media files on your GoGear Ariza:1. Use the USB cable that was supplied with your MP3 player to connect your device to your PC.2. Open Philips Songbird on your PC.3. Select a media file from your music, video or downloads library that you want to remove and right click it.4. Click 'Remove' and confirm the command.Repeat steps 3 & 4 as many times as you need to until you have deleted 100MB of media files. If songbird displays the file size, use that to help you decide which ones are taking up the most space, or as you are getting ready to remove a file, use the file sizes and add them together (mathematically). If you don't know, mb stands for megabyte, and a megabyte is 1,000,000 bytes. Once the total is 100,000,000 or more, you can stop removing files if you want. I hope this helps!

My philips gogear ariaz 8gb

I have had this happen a few times. Try putting a pin in the reset hole. This worked every time for me, plus I didn't lose any data from it, which I thought I would.

I had my player fully

Hi patsue,

To charge your GoGear mp3 player without your computer, you will need a universal USB charger as well as a mini-USB cable (which connects to the mp3 player and to the USB charger). These can be purchased at the Philips Online Store:

My computer do not recognize my mp3 player

Hi sirbeverly,

You may want to attempt a Repair - instructions for this process are specific to each model. You can find valuable Support resources by visiting www.philips.com/support and enter your model number (listed on the product itself, typically starts with "SA").

If you haven't already done so, you can reach Customer Support at 1-888-744-5477. An agent will also be able to walk you through this process.

Hope this helps! Rate and comment this solution!

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS:

Try doing a soft reset first.

  1. Insert a small pin or unfolded paperclip into the reset hole located at the back of the player.
  2. Hold until the player shuts down.
  3. Power on the player again by using the Power on/off key.
Note: Your songs and data will not be lost or corrupted by a soft reset.

If soft reset does not work, then you may have to use the Device Manager to REPAIR/RECOVER your player (Note: For some models, a Repair can be performed using Philips Songbird).

If you have not already installed the Device Manager, follow the on screen instructions to install the Device Manager from the installation CD or download the latest version of the Device Manager application from http://www.philips.com/support.
  1. Make sure all other applications Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that access the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device. Launch the Device Manager at Start->Programs->Philips Device Manager on your PC. Select the REPAIR tab on the dialogue box.
  2. Power off the player. Press and hold the "+" key and then connect it to the PC until you are prompted to release the key.
  3. Select the device name SA60xx and then click OK and REPAIR. IMPORTANT: All music & content of your device will be erased once the Player is repaired.070327115306_18301.gif
  4. Once the repair is complete a dialogue box will pop up; click OK and unplug the Player from the computer.
    070327115511_18302.gif
  5. The Device Manager will close automatically once the success message is displayed. Close all opened application and then unplug your device.
Once the Player is disconnected from the computer, the display will show "Firmware Upgrading" for a couple of seconds and then start up as usual.

Tip: Update your player's firmware to the latest version to reduce the chance of future hang-ups. See "How do I update my player with the latest firmware?" for instructions.

If you have any additional questions or issues, Consumer Care can be reached at 1-888-744-5477.

Hope this helps! If so, please let me know by rating this solution so that I can help others more effectively!

Sound not working without ear phones being plugged

The question is not clear , and I wish to clarify. test your earphone on a seperate device and if this works then the earphone is clear. If not the connecting socket pin or the wires are open which can be confirmed using a multimeter. Also if the player is not working try and reset using the reset button found on the player.A tiny hole on the side which can be pressed using a office pin. Press and hold to reset. Also check for faulty files on the player which can be corrupt and so you need to remove and reinstall safe files.

How do i download music from my i tunes library?

Hi angnumez03...

You will have to convert the format of all the itunes songs (ACC) into either WMA or MP3 to be able to play on your mp3 player. then once you have them converted you are going to have to install Windows Media Player and put the music that you want on yor mp3 player on the program.
Once you have all your songs on Windows Media Player then you will plug in your mp3 player and windows media player will recognize it and then you can highlight the music you want and download it to your mp3 player
Please take time to rate me thumbs up
