I had the same white screen problem and was suggested I removed the six small phillips head screws and then the two additional screws that held the metal plate in place. Use the blade of a knife along the side of the exposed ribbon cable connector and carefully pry it off. Then simply reposition the connector and push it back on. Good luck.
