You must connect to the computer with iTunes. There you can select the music you want t delete. Try charging from usb or docking station, if it works than your charger is broken, if doesn't i would return product to shop as its probably broken socket or something wrong with software. Anyway usually it's just a charger and than as it's new phone i would go back to shop and ask to swap for working one :) Sometimes if battery is dead it may take few seconds or even minutes till your screen turns on so after plugin in wait a while.
