Try to delete the app. (this will not delete your profile on facebook, its separate from iphone or anything else)

1. hold your finger in the icon and once it starts to shake back and forth a X will show up
2. click the x and chose delete
3. once its done deleting go back to the app store and reinstall facebook
4. re-enter your login information and password into facebook

what error you are getting?

try uninstalling facebook then reinstall it that works sometimes with most issues

if it is a 1st Generation iPad you cannot update it as the last running iOS will be only iOS 5.1.1 ! This model is capable of running the last version of iOS 5 designed for the iPad line. When this kind of sign comes to screen it's really hard to take a decision but finally you don't have options but turn off your device.. Understand that all the apps and data on the iPad are associated with an Apple ID so "signing out" of your iPad may render some apps and functions useless. You can restore your iPad if any of the follow issues occur: iPad disabled Lost the password for your iPad iPad has gone into Recovery Mode (showing connect to iTunes) 1. You you just trying to delete the app? Once you're logged on to the iPad (not the app) touch and hold any app icon until all the icons start jiggling and display an X in a circle in the corner. Click the X of any apps you want to delete. When done, press the home key (the round button at the bottom of ipad when held vertically).

Normally, you would just cut it, then go to where you want to paste it, and hold your finger on the new section until the round ball shape comes up, then hit paste. I believe you may have lost the paragraph if you didn't follow that procedure. It doesn't necessarily get copied anywhere else. Sorry.
