How do I lock my Toshiba Satellite L500 laptop
You can put a Power On Password of your Toshiba, this will prevent unauthorized access to youe laptop. If you forget this password then you will have problems unlocking your Toshiba.
The Power on Password is configured in the BIOS under sercuity settings.
You can also put a password on the hard drive and if your Toshiba is stolen and they remove the hard drive out of your Toshiba into another laptop they cannot get access to the data on your hard drive.
NOTE if you forget the hard disk password you will not be able to access your hard disk.

Hello,
is your laptop Bluetooth ready or is it Bluetooth enabled?
To find out if it is Bluetooth ready go to control panel and see if you can see a Bluetooth icon anywhere if you have then just click the Bluetooth icon and it will take you through a setup wizard to connect to your phone or any Bluetooth device.
If it's not there then your laptop is most likely Bluetooth ready which means it can support Bluetooth, so you will have to buy a Bluetooth adapter which are fairly cheap.
hope this helps.

Laptop opening up at phoenix securecore tiano
Hi fantailbllue...
Turn on your computer, go into safe mode by press the F8 key on top of your keyboard while starting up.
This will start you in the SAFE MODE.
Select Safe Mode.
From there, go into your User accounts and either delete the account and/or change the password
Be sure and write it down this time.
I would make a password boot disk/cd while you're at it that way if you lost the paper, you will always have a back-up on the disk/cd.
Please take time to rate me

Do you mean security lock slot? There is a hole at the back of the computer which takes a device called a Kingston lock which is used to secure a laptop to a desk to prevent theft.
It looks like this

How do i restore my computer back to the oringal speck
If you have the documentation it should tell you which f button to go into the recovery section on your computers keyboard if it has a recovery partition a lot of older ones don't in which case you'll most likely need the recovery disc which should have come with it or an operating disk with it's key to reinstall it. Before that you could try starting in safe which will also be one of the f keys some also have an fn key which you have to press at the same time as the f key that's normally by the windows key.

Why is my computer running slow and why is it taking me so long to open my searches.
If you want a faster computer, disable unused Windows features like Windows aero and hibernate feature.
Update your Windows system and your antivirus once a week.
Make sure you scan your computer.
Disable unused start up program to make your computer start faster.
Enable boot defrag.
I recomended you to use Advanced System Care from IOBIT, or any tune up program to maintain your computer more easily.

How to on wifi
If you have a WiFi switch button(usually a button with radio logo on top), you can turn it by switching.
But, if you don't, try to find it on your keyboard (usually in function key with radio logo on it) and combine with FN key.
But, if still won't on, check your BIOS configuration.
But if still won't on, you can fix it by updating your BIOS. But I suggest you to take it to an expert to fix the problem.

Restore FN + F8 key to reactivate Wi-Fi on Toshiba Satellite L500
Hi,
My laptop didnt enable the wifi with the fn+f8 key.
I even reset the cmos and nothing.
Then I went to toshiba drivers website and after installing the "thku" "toshiba hotkey utility" the fn+f8 start working and enable/disable the wifi. It now shows a popup windows when I press the fn+f8 key.
Before the wifi led was always off. Windows detected the wifi device but nothing on the wifi available list.
Now the led is always on, starts orange when I turn on the pc and blue when connected.

Bios password
I always use a bios password. Can you access your bios (also called CMOS) I am sure there is a bios reset (usually a jumper you install over two metal prongs on the motherboard) or other method to reset your bios to factory.
