If you have ATT DSL they should be supplying the DSl Modem. Unfortunately they supply Motorola 2210's, which systematically burn out due to overheating. The symptom is that the DSL blinnks, but the other lights to the right of that will not come on. That means it is sending requests to the network for service, but the receiving section is unable to receive the reply.

I am on my 3rd 2210 in 3 months. ATT do replace them free, but they really need to switch to a different manufacturer.

This can be done -- I've done it to my Arris modem router interface from Suddenlink.Make sure you have your original modem/router login info (typically this is something like admin/admin, or admin/password). You'll need this info in case there is an error and you need to reset your device. If you do this simple step-by-step carefully you won't need to reset and you'll be able to use the password or SSID you prefer with your device.To do this, the page with the grayed out field(s) must have an Apply, Submit, or other button that saves changes on the page.DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY.IF YOU EDIT THE WRONG GRAYED OUT FIELD YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO USE YOUR MODEM/ROUTER.Only do this for Names, SSIDs, Passwords, etc. Do *NOT* do this for other values--things are grayed out for a reason.1. my guess is you forgot your ISP owns it no country stated, no ISP stated nor your purpose here. no model told, ARRIS. box. plug it in call ISP speak done. (only they do that, not you, you must ask them) I own my own modem but must call them to even replace my box. they configure it and is locked to ONE SERIAL NUMBER JUST LIKE CELL PHONES ARE.

DNS, 1.1.1.1 there vast other DNS, but you didnt tell yours and DNS can have HUGE parental blocks. to all evil sites so in the surfboard settings set DNS top 1.1.1.1 to wide open generic, 8.8.8.8. learn to access your router, RTM read the manual see its IP and go there and set the DNS to any you like. i like 1.1.1.1.

From a quick look at the specifications, it does not appear that that model offers built in WiFi; thus it would not have a WPS button. In addition, I would caution you against using/enabling WPS on any device, as that protocol has been compromised. As for solution and recommendations - Obtain a different model from your service provider with the features you require, or obtain an off the shelf WiFi-capable router from an electronics department. This modem would be able to connect to only a single device without the addition of a router; perhaps that fills your needs but I suspect you will want more than that. If you choose to obtain a router, you will still likely not have a WPS button - because of the security concerns most if not all of them are off the market. No worries though, many manufacturers offer very simple setup alternatives to WPS - sans the known security risk. Hope that helps you out!

probably the back up battery has gone and needs replacing

mines in the trash, they keep going bad the shorting out an causing the modem to go dead. so bought my own (got 2 for backup) ARRIS SB6183. no battery is bliss. or did you mean at garage sale you find a ROHS batt laying on table (that I threw out, LOL) and wonder what it is.? its a battery and most times no good. or did you mean you have a modem the battery is dead and wont to buy a new one, and ebay is off line today, that it? most of these are for VOIP, telephone, use with lost of AC power. I cut all landline here, and that. so no batteries there. here. but they are only found on ebay. for sure not in TARGET or Bestbuy. here go to ebay then in the search box, type your model model number eg: ARRIS TG1682G then at the end type battery.

Try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1. Make sure that your pc is connected directly to the Arris TM602G modem and not on a router.
