My toshiba tv won't turn on

1. Verify the circuit it's plugged into is powered. 2. Change the batteries in your remote control. It requires (2) AAA's. 3. Unplug the TV for several minutes, then try again.

Toshiba 32c100u dead; power supply board replaced but still nothing

Have you checked whether mains power reaches the power board? Check it first. If yes, the power board you purchased newly should be checked.

Toshiba 32C100U, won't pick up digital signals

The tuner can fail. Did you have a surge come through cable line? I have had tuners damaged after a lightning strike near an OTA antenna. (It took out the amplifier/splitter and the tuners on 2 TVs and a digital-to-analog OTA converter box. Oddly, it didn't destroy the tuner on a second converter box.) Before you assume that the tuner is bad, try resetting the TV to the factory default. Press Menu and select Setup. Highlight Installation and press Enter. Then use the left and right arrows to get to Factory Defaults. Press Enter and then highlight Yes and press Enter. (Enter your PIN if you have set one.) Then use the left or right arrows to select Done and press Enter again. After the TV turns off, unplug it for several seconds. Plug the power cord back in and try to scan for channels again.I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Ghost? More likely bad remote. Pull the batteries from the remote and leave them out for a couple days, see if the problem persists. If it does then there is nothing wrong with the remote. Good luck.

Toshiba 32C100U popping sound no picture

Might be worth the effort to open it and have a look for loose plugs or a ribbon cable somewhere--if do look for any plugs that are held down with tape near where they plug in.

The picture will either not come on or will

Sir the problem of your unit is the power supply if you remove the back cover of your unit be sure to unplug it first, then observe the power supply or look for the bulge up capacitor this bulge up capacitor is producing a low and unfiltered dc output this causes your unit to malfunction.

ekcnoel_34.jpg
this is the bulge up capacitor if you see this replace it with the same type and observe the polarity. And also try to look for cold solder or loosed solder joint in the solder part of your power supply.
ekcnoel_13.jpeg
If you see this cold solder or loosed solder, resolder it but be sure not to connect separated pins or joint it will cause much damage to the unit, hope this help good day and best regards.

My fuse keeps blowing and

Hi Joseph,

Make sure that you replaced the fuse with exact ratings. Low ampere ratings will not handle current as what the original fuse installed. If still fuse keeps blowing after replacing with the same rating, this is an indication that you have a short on the power supply section. It can't be fixed by replacing the fuse alone. Short usually near the AC line where parts like the following are present.

  1. Power Cord - even very low of chances but still to be check.
  2. VDR
  3. Rectifier diode
  4. Main filter electrolytic capacitor
  5. Voltage regulator I.C.

This is the common parts that might be shorted and made the fuse blew. You may visit the linkhttp://www.fixya.com/support/r8053361-fuse_keeps_blowing for more info.

If you don't have necessary tools and test instruments, and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the problem. Don't attempt to work in the power supply if you don't know the safety precaution.

You may also replaced the entire power supply board. Click this LINK to order online.

If you are near to repair shop, you may bring the power supply board to them and isolate the shorted parts, you will save some money rather than sending the entire unit.

Hope I helped you.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for using Fixya.

If you tell me exactly what you are trying to plug in I can help you better.

Picture does not always come

Sounds like inverter boards or backlight boards are defective, there two of them in most Toshibas
and the master board usually dies. If when the tv is on and has sound look closely with a
flashlight shined at the screen you may see movement of the picture, as the screen is most
likely working, just no lights behind it.
