Frigidaire FKFH21F7HW Freezer Questions & Answers
Door ajar light will not go off
Good Morning Friend, thank you for your inquiry!
Did your freezer previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. First, deactivate the alarm to your freezer by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. It is best to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your freezer. After deactivating the alarm and your freezer has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, your freezer may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause.

Light bulb is not working. how to change it and what kind of bulb is it model: FKFH21F7HW
Good Afternoon Rose, I am happy to assist you!
Before replacing the light bulb in your Frigidaire freezer please confirm that the temperature control is set in the OFF position and unplug your appliance to avoid electrical shock. Typically, you may remove the light bulb by turning it counter-clockwise. The old bulb can be replaced by an equivalent watt bulb (part number is 216988100) available either from part distributors or hardware stores. I hope this information helps to some degree!
Freezer runs and sides are hot
Good Morning bigred140, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
From what you have described, it seems like you may be referring to the perimeter hot tube. It is normal to be warm to the touch; however, since it may feel hot to you, I would suggest verifying that you have the proper clearances around your refrigerator. You can refer to your owner's guide for those specifications. If you do not have an owner's guide, you can typically locate one on the manufacturer site.
If the clearance is fine, you may need to clean the condenser coils. As part of routine maintenance, you can remove the toe grille (located at the foot of your freezer) by unsnapping the sides and lifting outward towards you. Now, using an extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush, remove dust buildup from condenser coils on left side underneath freezer. Cleaning condenser coils typically resolves this issue.
But, if clearance is fine and the condenser coils are free from dust and you are still feeling too much exterior heat, you may need to check with a local service tech to determine what else could be causing this issue.
Best regards, Chris.
Stuck on ff setting
Hello
Ailla, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
Could the
error code possibly be "OFF"? If so, there is a possibility that the
temperature control is in the OFF position. When this occurs the temperature
control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the
light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing
the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for
temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep
from accidently changing the temperature setting. I hope these troubleshooting
tips help you in some small way. I ask that you please follow up with a comment
on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is
needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully.
Best
regards!
Our 13 month old FKFH21F7HW
Hi grmitch,
The leaking water is often caused by the drain pan. There are some ways on how to correct this issue, either you clean the pan and reposition the tray. In addition, here are some tips that you can apply to solve this problem. Please follow the steps below.
Before conducting any repair, please remember your safety. Unplug the machine or shut off the power at the breaker panel to avoid any electric shock.
1. Remove the drain pan and clean it with a warm soapy water or water and baking soda.
--> the drain pan is located at the bottom of the refrigerator behind the front grill.
--> Please remove the grill which snaps into place. Hold the drain pan while pulling slightly upward and forward.
2. If you noticed that the pan is too closed to the compressor please reposition the tray.
3. You may also try to check water invelt valve. It is located behind the refrigerator. Look for a water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source. Now disconnect the supply line. It has screws so you need to remove them.
4. The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Before disconnecting the wires please label the wire placement on the water inlet valve.
5. The wires are connected to the terminal with slip on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals ( don't pull on the wire ). You can use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Please check if the connectors and terminals has corrosion. If corroded they should be replaced.
If has water inside the refrigerator, you need to clear the drain tube.
Your refrigerator has a drain that leads to the exterior drain pan beneath the refrigerator. Occasionally this drain can become clogged resulting in standing water inside your refrigerator. A similar drain exists in the freezer, which when clogged results in ice build up on the floor of the freezer.
The drain is located either on the floor of the refrigerator, beneath the vegetable crisper, or in the wall behind a drain funnel.
Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into it with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of 1/4 inch or smaller flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
My Frigidaire up right freezer is showing an error code "FF" and is beeping. What is the issue?
Hey friend, thanks for your inquiry!
Within your Frigidaire freezer the error code "FF" stands for freezer failure. I would perform a reset on your appliance which can be done by either unplugging the power cord or flipping the household circuit breaker. Once the freezer has come back on you should be able to push the "Down" button three times to start it back up.
If that does not correct the issue Please respond back I would like to assist you with any additional information. Hope this helps to some degree. -Matt
