Hoover Platinum LiNX Cordless Stick Vacuum Questions & Answers
Hoover linx brush won't turn
The wires from the battery to the brush motor get broken and you have to solder them back together. I just did this. Now it works again. They break in the connector that swivels at the head. If I were doing it again I'd use new wire!
My Hoover Linx is not
I think you have 2 problems:1. The LiNX gets clogged somethings in the head unit and the clog is difficult to see. Remove the head (via the push button). and clean out the clog. I do this with a lenngth of coat hanger wire that I bent a small hock on to the end. 2. If the roller stops turning it can be caused by one of the power wires to the moter getting severed in the swivel connection in the head unit. This has happened to us twice. I took the unit apart (a pain) and was able to fix by soldering and taping wires. However, Hoovers design is not great in getting power to the motor and this may recur. I love these vacuums and I hope they engineer a more robust wie feeding solution.
Hoover linx motor makes a lot of noise when running
I had this problem on 2 Linxes. It was caused by fine dirt buildup in the blower impeller blades, partially blocking the airflow (which results in much higher rpm's) and throwing the blower into imbalance, causing excessive vibration. I fixed it by cleaning out the dirt with a fat pipe cleaner, available at craft stores. Just remove the dirt collector, and the blower intake is exposed. It's easier if you then snip out the grill, making access more clear.
It won't prevent future dirt buildup, so it'll be necessary again.

Locate the dimple somewhere around the edge of the two components to be separated.
Put a sheet or drop-cloth down and work on that to prevent anything from being lost if it opens suddenly. (it should be fine).
Use a large flat head screwdriver to pry it open.
Why s it starting to make loud noise?
you might have picked up a hard object like a dime or screw that won't go into the bag. Pill out the brush and shake it downward and look for something falling out.
My Hoover Linx handle broke.
Not sure what you mean by a broken handle, but if you mean the plastic is cracking where the handle connects to the main body than I have a suggestion. We have had this happen a couple times and I tried various fixes that did not work. However, recently I found a cheap product that will strength the handle to make it stronger than new. It called Fiber Fix tape (its on Amazon). Wet the tape and wrap the handle. It is a quick set epoxy in a fiberglass like cloth. Dries very hard. Not pretty, but it works great.
Why doesn't the brush roller rotate?
Hi, this is Jim with Crucial Vacuum,
The belt may not be broken, but it may be lacking in tension and therefore unable to rotate the brush roll on its own. You're going to want to replace your vacuums belt every 3 to 6 months depending on usage. Check to see if the belt is loose, or over stretched.
Check the brush roll as well and be sure its securely locked into place. It could be slightly loose causing a lack of communication between itself and the belt. Our video can help with fitting the belt in properly with the brush roll:

Why doesn't my battery charge? Why doesn't the charger's light come on?
Hi Suzanne! Follow these steps to check that your charger and battery are working properly.
1. Unplug the charger for at least 30 seconds.
2. Plug the charger back in. The blue light on the charger should flash once.
If the blue light flashes once this is an indication that the charger is still functioning properly. If the blue light does not flash, the charger will need to be replaced. Follow this link to order a replacement charger.

3. Place the battery in the vacuum and turn it on for 30 seconds. (even if it does not turn on or powers off)
4. Turn the vacuum off.
5. Remove the battery and place it in the charger.
If the light on the charger is solid blue this is an indication that the battery has been reset. Allow 3-4 hours for the battery to fully charge. The blue light will start to blink slowly to indicate the battery is fully charged.
If the light on the charger is flashing blue or there is no light at all this can mean that your battery needs to be replaced. Follow the link to order a replacement battery.

Hope this helps!

How old is your battery? and did you keep it on charge when it was not in use?
Most rechargeable batteries require a spindown, where as you completely discharge the battery before recharging it again.
I know you aren't wanting to hear this but in all probability that battery is spent and will need to be reconditioned at a battery place, however, it will cost almost as much as a new one it would be your call.
if you have a ohm/volt meter it might be possible to look at the charger and get a volt/amp reading and then test it see if it is putting out the proper voltage it could be putting out a trickle charge and it would take forever to charge it.
there is one other situation to look at and if the beater brush or motor is causing a resistance it will pull a battery down quick.
I do not own this vaccum so I can only guess as to the possibilities.
Brush dont spin
Hi, it's Ambrai from Crucial Vacuum.
Your Hoover brushroll is connected to the motor by two different sized geared belts. Over time, the belt's gears wear down and stretch out losing the grooves and tension that turn the roller. Another cause could be there is debris stuck on the roller and/or bearings. To gain access to your belts, please remove the head, by pressing the push button.
