Normally You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screw(s) you need to remove. Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done. In some cases, you then have to gently rotate the handle to unlock it. You have 2 systems inside your microwave, one is working, one is not. The working one has the electric motor to drive the turntable and the timer. The other system includes the "magnetron", which is the heavy unit that makes the microwaves to cook the food. A repairman can check the magnetron to see if it has failed, and there are a few units that have a replaceable fuse that could be blown. You will not want to try to fix it yourself, without a good knowledge of such things, as there is often a capacitor inside, which can shock you really bad if you touch it in error. "SE" error means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

The exact part you need will depend on the model number, which will be one of these:

On some models, you can just order a new membrane keypad and replace it. It's cheap, but a lot of work.

On other models, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame. That is a simple do-it-yourself job, but it costs more.

Probably the control panel has a problem like a poor connection or faulty touch pad.

Please inspect the plastic latches that should actuate the door switches. Sounds like you may have broken one when slamming the door too hard

some time due to moisture the membrane switch stops working - which can't be repaired - the only solution is to replase it.

This is actually a simple DIY job. The service manual is at my site here. You simply move your circuit board into a new control panel frame assembly, which comes with a new keypad already attached. For model SMH9151S, it is part number DE94-01806K ("Assy Control PANEL") and you can order it from the Pros here for about $42. If it is not in stock when you order, they can have it to you in just a few days. You can also find helpful exploded view diagrams and order other parts via that link. There's a video here showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. If you have trouble, slide the hood vent grille to the left about 1/4", then then pull it forward. Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move your circuit board into the new frame. The SE error indicates a short in the key panel. You can try resetting the microwave by unplugging it (or turning off the circuit breaker). Leave it off for a minute or so. If the code recurs, check if the microwave is under warranty. If it is still covered by the warranty, contact Samsung for repairs. If it is out of warranty, decide if it is worth sending the microwave in for repairs. (You'll have to pay a fee for diagnosing the problem; that will be applied to the actual repairs if you have the unit fixed.) I hope this helps. Cindy Wells
