Error 22 indicates that the drive motor (running belt) has been instructed to start, by either manual or program control, and the monitoring system has not received any response from the speed sensing system indicating that the drive motor has started.

Error 26 this error monitors the speed sensor signal and verifies the the speed sensor signal is appropriate for the requested speed. If the speed sensor signal is incorrect or erratic an Error 26 will be displayed.
Unplug unit and remove motor shroud and try these procedures:
The treadmill utilizes an optical (infrared) speed sensor and the line of sight between the speed sensor and the speed sensor target is obstructed. The speed sensor position relative to the speed sensor target is incorrect. The speed sensor potentiometer adjustment is incorrect (when equipped). The speed sensor target is damaged
Carefully, vacuum out the drive motor compartment with a static safe vacuum cleaner. Pay special attention to the area between the speed sensor and speed sensor target. Adjust the speed sensor position so that the space between the speed sensor and the speed sensor target is 3/16 inch and so that the speed sensor photo eye is aimed at the larger portion of the targets wedge shaped section. On hall effect speed sensors (magnetic sensor) the space between the end of the speed sensor and the flywheel tooth should be 3/16 inch. If the treadmill utilizes a speed sensor potentiometer, locate the speed sensor potentiometer on the lower PCA. Set the speed sensor potentiometer at mid-range. Start the treadmill and increase the speed to 6 mile per hour. Carefully adjust the speed sensor potentiometer to the point where the treadmill is operating the smoothest. Increase the treadmills speed to full speed at repeat the previous adjustment. These two adjustments are typically small and are usually only a matter of fine tuning. . Most speed sensor targets consist of a circular arrangement of alternate black and silver sections. If the speed sensor target is torn or badly scratched the speed sensor may receive an incorrect reading. Replace the speed sensor target.

Is it on an extension cord? Take it off any extension cords and make sure it's on a dedicated 120v circuit. No other items on the circuit. Also, how old is it? Precor made a bunch of the 9.3x series from 2002-2005 with an aluminum tail roller that can cause problems. Check the back roller. Is is silver and non-magnetic? if that's the case, you have an aluminum roller and you need to contact precor. If you're the original owner of the machine, they should warranty the replacement of the parts, if not, you'll have to buy at the very least a running belt and new roller.

If you have a known good speed sensor (reed switch) and you have tested it with an ohm meter (even new ones can be bad although not likely) all that is left is a motor brush issue or a bad upca. Pull the motor brushes and see if they still have life in them. Most brushes have lines formed in the sides to show where they need to be longer than to be acceptable. check the commutator and make sure it is clean as well. Use a stone to clean it if necessary. If all this checks out then you are looking at a bad upca.

Replace any parts that need replacing, or is large enough to trigger with a pencil eraser or Q-tip. Plug the treadmill plug back into the wall. Use the Q-tip to press the reset button. Press the reset button one more time with the Q-tip. "CL21" should appear on the screen. Press the enter key. The display will change again and show "CL22." Keep pressing the enter key until the numbers cycle through to the number "CL26." Press enter one more time. The letter E should appear on the display screen.

Press enter twice more. The letters "SS" should appear on the screen. When this happens, press the start/stop key. Making sure to keep well away from the tread, press enter to start the treadmill. The treadmill will start on its own. The treadmill will stop on its own after a few seconds. When it stops, press the power key two times. Remove the safety key and put in a safe place. Power issues with treadmills fit into two categories: the power does not turn on or the power shuts off when using the treadmill. If the power will not turn on, make sure that the treadmill is plugged into a working power outlet. In addition, you should use a single-outlet surge protector for the treadmill. This is an error code for 1 of 2 things. Something was spilt on the display causing a detected malfunction. Or, you are experiencing a power sag where the unit is plugged in. Try an isolated AC circuit. (Nothing else is ON or plugged in)
