20 Most Recent Blaupunkt IDC-A09 5-Disc CD Changer Questions & Answers

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I'll reply, so that other readers may get the benefit of my answer.

2004 was the year that Peugeot/Citroen changed from VAN bus to CAN bus wiring on their stereo's. If your car is before or early 2004 you will need the IDC-A09 blaupunkt in dash changer, which should just plug in and work straight away.

However, If your car is later 2004 onwards you will need the IDC-A04 Blaupunkt changer which will plug in and power up, but will not work properly untill you go to a peugeot dealer and they hook up some diagnostic software to tell the car a changer has been added. Both the IDC-A04 and A09 changers look identical.

I would say that you got the wrong changer, as the IDC-A09 changers in pre/early 2004 should just plug in and work.

Remember: Pre 2004 cars need IDC-A09 (plug and play) and Post 2004 cars need IDC-A04 changer (get pug dealer to reprogram cars computer)...its a costly mistake if you bought the wrong one!

try after market module or harness try find a after market supplier and see if avaiable

some dust or even dirty sensors are causing this problem with a pressure air can you may solve it or better to take it to service bench

The head unit needs reprogramming with planet to accept the CD changer....... a main dealer or any good local garage should be able to help you with the software needed.

hello hi ... umm first of all the cd player of that car has issues and its not only you who has faced it. secondly rather than spending $1500 get a new stereo.. its the era of usb, aux and bluetooth now

i had this problem in my ute, if you take out the glove box (simply pull it towards you) there will be a small panel on your right (if you are in the passenger footwell), it's located just to the left of the radio and has 2 small screws, if you remove them this plastic panel will be able to be pulled away and in there will be a unit that looks like a modem, simply unplug the power from this and the voice in problem will be gone! i disconnected mine completely and removed it.

It is probably the loading mechanism gears are either broken or something has jammed them up, possibly a cd got out of alignment. If your handy with tools and there is no warranty left on it (opening up your deck will void your warranty) then open it up and take a look. If you can, have the power hooked up to it. you can either have it in the car which can be a pain to work on, or get a 12 volt power supply and work on it on a desk. that way you can see what is happening. Depending on the problem you might be able to fix it. but with out seeing it for myself I cant help you any father. If you are not handy with tools then you will need someone who is. Chances are something is broken though and depending on the price of the deck it might not be worth paying someone to fix it. So if no warranty and not that expensive of a deck than go for it and open it up, you really got nothing to lose and you might learn a few things. Thats how I got started fixing things
