NEW DRUM

joe, to replace the drum, you need to remove the cover from the front of the drum unit it has three locking tabs, one removed, take main charger/grid unit out, located on the top of drum unit, two screws one on each end. the drum is held in with a cam lock shaft located on the front of the drum unit, turn it couter clockwise, your drum can now be removed,it's recomended that you replace the cleaning blade also, two scews. you'll have to coat the new drum with toner and manually turn it against the new cleanig blade,if you dont the blade may flip and ruin your new drum.reassemble

Error code H4-00

It means that your fuser (which melts the toner to the paper) did not reach its proper operating temperature. You will need to have the fuser inspected by a qualified technician to determine the cause. He will also be able to reset the error code and make the machine operable again.

Error code

The L3 code refers to your scanner not moving. One thing you can check is the scanner lock, which is a clear round dial located under the scanner bed (where you remove your copies from).
I've seen that dial get bumped into lock position when copies are removed from the recieving tray. Alot of times, I'll remove the dial to avoid that problem in the future.

You problem is one of 4 things - a bad thirmister, a blown thermal fuse, a blown heating lamp, or dirty contacts on the heating lamp. Try cleaning all or replacing all listed and the interupt should be on the to left part of the control pannel. Good Luck..
